Well, I was in charge of buying them for my girlfriend and her brother today, and Ticketbastard bent me over the table. If anybody has access or knows where I can find some decently priced tickets (2-4) I'd appreciate the help. Oh and don't laugh.

Not sure if this was mentioned before or not (hmmm...) but Canadian artists were nominated and then asked to write and record a song about a place in their home province or territory. Artists include Mr. Plaskett, Hey Rosetta! and Hawksley Workman.

Does any one have a chronological list of all the Hip shows?
Since TheHip.com took over show listing duties from Hipbase I cannot find one.
Any help would be smiled upon.

Howdy all,

I'm a history nut and my fiancee asked me for a list of history books I want for my birthday/Christmas. I'm being kinda lazy at the moment  and thought I'd ask around for good Canadian history books, specifically Confederation/WWI/WW2/politics books. I've read Romeo Dallaire's memoir, which was very fascinating so something along those lines would be intriquing. Any takers? Thanks!

wondering if putting in 500-1000 people a night for 60 shows at 35 bucks pays the bills--this simply cant all be for new album pr as they never mention the "new disk" during shows. I come up with app $2million in revenues but have no idea of costs plus split 5 ways--than there are the roadies ,bus driver, business manager etc etc. How many 'we are the same' disks have been sold??

From the Hip Museum...

Quote: Phantom Power session outtake: "In the darkest deep/Germany/Looked like the Vegas Strip". Also includes a line shared with Save the Planet ("Murmurs in the mist") to rhyme with the '97 ARA slogan: "Let the enemy not exist". Some of the lyrics ended up as the basis for the poem of the same name in Coke Machine Glow, and some of the music was reworked into "The Dark Canuck".

This tune is one of my favourite unreleased Hip songs. If you haven't heard it, you must! (Try and listen through the muddy tape hiss, which isn't that bad)

Dana posted it as one of his downloads of the week right here:

I know some may have heard this song before, but I just wanted to re-iterate its cornucopia of awesomeness.
Anybody know anything else about this song?
