Apparently while in Texas The Hip did an acoustic radio set.
Anyone in Texas have an ability to obtain this?

Hi - I heard the Hip play last night at the ACC in Toronto and I loved Rob Baker's semi-hollow guitar ... it was a cream-coloured electric I think. I am shopping for an electric guitar of my own and wouldn't mind knowing what he uses! Amazing sound. Does anyone know?? Thanks so much!!

Smile

PS. Would also be interested in recommendations for other great semi-hollow electrics.. I have a Fender Blues Junior amp that I would use it with. I play jazz/pop and sing. Thanks!!!!!!!

I am of the opinion that The Hip are a band who's fans will always come back for more. They are also the type of fans that travel when they can, and see multiple shows per tour (as is evidence from all of the familiar faces I see all over The US and Canada)

That said, I have been wondering lately if the double set evening with shows are going to become the status quo for the remainder of the bands tenure. I feel like The Hip are truly a band that does not benefit from an opening band, and with their catalouge only getting bigger, I wonder how they will contuinue to fit in all the standards while touring a new album.

Any thoughts? (For the record, I would be all for this forever more!!)

My Father loves traditional Newfoundland music. Most of his older collections are on cassette. He is having extreme difficulty when trying to put the cassettes on to cds. Any one know an easy way to transfer his tape music to cd? Help would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

Dumb-ass people.
This lady calls 911 to report a drunk driver.
It ends up she is calling on herself. She is the drunk driver.
The cops ask her to pull to the side of the road and wait for them - and she does.

You am them?

Dispatcher: Clark County 911
Mary Strey: Somebody's really drunk driving down Granton Road...
Dispatcher: ...Which way are they going?
Mary Strey: They are going, um...
Dispatcher: Towards Granton or towards Neillsville?
Mary Strey: Towards Granton
Dispatcher: Okay are you behind them, or...
Mary Strey: No, I am them
Dispatcher: You am them?
Mary Strey: Yes, I am them
Dispatcher: Okay, so you want to call and report that you're driving drunk?
Mary Strey: Yes

Today (November 4, 2009), Daniel Edlen announced via twitter that he "Found a great photo of Gord Downie taken by Dylan Neild to inspire my painting of the Tragically Hip singer."
Once the work is complete, Hipbasers should be able to order their own for approximately $175USD. How great would that look in a rec room?
