This is different...
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=295933

Quote:CALGARY -- Canada's world junior hockey team is going green.

Hockey Canada announced Saturday that the Canadian junior team will wear green jerseys during next year's IIHF world junior hockey championship in Regina and Saskatoon.

The jerseys are designed to honour the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders, and were unveiled Saturday during the Saskatchewan-B.C. Lions game in Regina.

"Green is the colour a hockey is the game," says Scott Smith, chief operating officer of Hockey Canada. "It's exciting to release a special version of the Hockey Canada jersey," Hockey Canada chief operating officer Scott Smith said in a statement.

"We believe fans in Saskatchewan, and throughout Canada, will rally around the green jerseys prior to and during the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship."

The Canadians will wear the jerseys twice -- once in a pre-competition game and once during the gold-medal game, if they make it that far. Canada is attempting to win its sixth straight world junior championship.

Hockey Canada also announced that it will auction off the game-worn jerseys from the tournament on eBay. Details of the auction will be released in late December.

The tournament begins Dec. 26.

My opinion.... this is stupid! Green is NOT a Canadian colour. Enough of this crap where we have national jerseys to "honour" other teams... teams that don't even play hockey on top of that! This is a marketing ploy, and a shitty one at that.
Canada's colours are White & Red. If they want a neutral black to accent everything, fine. Not green.

DULUTH, Minn.— A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while drunk. A criminal complaint says 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.

Prosecutors say Anderson's blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed into a parked vehicle in August 2008. He was not seriously injured.

Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders.

Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland stayed 180 days of jail time Monday and ordered two years of probation for Anderson. His attorney, David Keegan, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere, I did a search and did not see anything.

I went into a Goodlife Fitness in Toronto today to restart my gym membership, and when I signed up the woman asked me if I wanted tickets to see The Hip. I didn't think they were playing in the Toronto area anytime soon, so I asked her where they were playing... Turns out they are doing a show for Goodlife Fitness employees and members at the ACC on Nov. 5th. They took my address and said they will be sending me two tickets in the mail! It definitely softened the blow from the monthly cost of getting my fat ass back into shape.

If you are a member I recommend bugging the staff the next time you go in. If you are thinking of joining, now might be a good time. I would have to think they'll have lots of tickets to give away to fill up the place!

Anyone else hear any details?
