Not sure if someone here runs it - but it is pretty nice and comprehensive (with all due respect to Sherpa's setlist work)

Hey All!

The Stat Pack is broken down into a few different categories. I have all We Are the Same songs at the top followed by the rest. It's pretty self explanatory. Enjoy.

We Are the Same

Total Plays:

1. The Depression Suite (76) - Only 2 shows not played: 4/29/2009 & 11/06/2009
2. Morning Moon (74) - 65 of 74 have come in the first set. Has shown up in the acoustic portion 3 times.
3. Love Is A First (72) - 60/72 have either been as a 1st set opener or closer.

5. Coffee Girl (63) - Played in 11 of the past 12 shows with only 2 appearances in the acoustic portion during that time after a pretty extensive run there.
6. Now the Struggle has a Name(53) - 4 appearances in the last 12 shows represents a significant drop off for this song.
7. Frozen In My Tracks (46) - 25 of 46 playings have come in the encore.
8. Honey, Please (24) - Only played in 8 of the last 38 shows. Not sure why.
9. Queen of the Furrows (23) - Hey, at least they play it sometimes.
10. The Exact Feeling (18) - 6 of the last 38. C'ya.
11. Speed River (11) - Speed River is still froze over. 0 for the last 53.
12. Country Day (7) - No comment.

Notes: The top 3 songs are getting the NOIS treatment. The last Recluse and especially Struggle have dropped off some. Frozen is an encore machine. Honey & Queen could have used some of the air time that went to Coffee Girl, Morning Moon, Last Recluse, Struggle. The gap is just to big. Exact Feeling & Speed River are fine songs, but within this collection they are nothing more than filler. With regards to Country Day, I think a great opportunity was wasted with The Hip having the addition of a keyboard player and more time to play more songs. This is a beautiful, soaring number that the band could have had a lot of fun with. I don't think it's necessarily a set closer, but there are many set list placements that would have been quite effective. What might have been...

I can understand why they leaned so heavily on certain songs. This is a very, very solid album front to back and the weak links are only perceived as weak due to their immediate company. I think Love Is A First will have more of an effect when we don't hear it every show. The Depression Suite is something else though. This is the song I have been wanting The Hip to write forever. I'm having a hard time coming up with any Hip song I like better. It's fucking brilliant.

  question regarding "Songs From the Vault" series

In 2004 The Hip released 3 live shows. This was under the title of "Live Series" Volume 1,2,and3. Now they have 3 shows for sale under the series name "From the Vault." Does anyone know why they they didn't continue with the series from 2004? Also, the early ones can't be bought anymore. Is that going to be the way the new ones are. Available for a limited time only? Just wondering if anyone knew the deal on these series

Does anyone know of these two being performed live? AIWDTP I thought would be a likely candidate for the acoustic sets this tour, but no dice.
Leave seems like it has a lot of studio stuff that I don't know how would be done live, but has it or could it???
Just a couple mellow songs I really like that the guys seem to have purposefully forgotten (along with their great bonus tracks that they don't play)

This is a cool little endeavour.
The write up below is from Jeff Miers of The Buffalo News.

I'm liking what Beck is doing. He's acting as a catalyst to bring together some disparate musicians who seem to share only a deep, abiding love for the music that helped shape them along the way. Beck is pulling these people together, choosing a favored "classic" album, and urging the assembled to interpret the whole thing in one day of recording.

Here's how the man himself describes the endeavor, as posted on his web site:

"Record Club is an informal meeting of various musicians to record an album in a day. The album chosen to be reinterpreted is used as a framework. Nothing is rehearsed or arranged ahead of time. A track is put up here once a week. As you will hear, some of the songs are rough renditions, often first takes that document what happened over the course of a day as opposed to a polished rendering. There is no intention to 'add to' the original work or attempt to recreate the power of the original recording. Only to play music and document what happens. And those who aren't familiar with the albums in question will hopefully look for the songs in their definitive versions."

So far, Beck has worked with the likes of MGMT, Wolfmother, Devendra Banhart, and Radiohead/Paul McCartney/Beck producer Nigel Godrich. This impressive cast has covered the likes of "The Songs of Leonard Cohen" and "The Velvet Underground & Nico." The latest project found Wilco and Leslie Feist joining the fray in service of Skip Spence's cult classic "Oar." Check it out.

  SNL Gig - Part Deux

A SNL producer, suitably impressed after a recent gig, approaches the band to do a prime time show - play two songs each less than 5 minutes - one from new material, one from their classic material (yes, all their songs are classic!). In an effort to appeal to the "unique music tastes" of the US audience, bolster their visibility down south, and show off their emmense talents, my choices would be:

2. It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken
