Why is this song never talked about?,never played in concert? not on "yer favorites" etc etc THIS SONG ROCKS!!
At the slots:
“Hey Eunice, it’s about time to cash-in and go see The Tragically Holy”. “Let’s top off our drinks first”. “Good idea Eunice” agreed Beatrice.
In the concert hall:
“Who are The Tragically Holy?” asked Beatrice. “Some gospel band from down South I reckon” replied Eunice. “Like the Gatlin Bothers I guess?”
Band members walk on stage:
“Look at the guy to the right with the long hair”. “He looks like Jesus” noted Eunice. “This will be just like sing-along in church” Beatrice countered.
Two songs into the set:
“CAN YOU HEAR ME EUNICE?” “MY EARS ARE RINGING”. “THIS ISN’T GOSPEL MUSIC, IT’S THE DEVIL’S MUSIC” exclaimed Beatrice.
Grannies exiting concert hall:
“I had a good mind to go up there and tell those boys to turn it down”. “Just to think we cashed-out and lost our seat at the slots to listen to that music”. “Let’s top off our drinks Eunice”.
S'il vous plait?
Hi
My Name is Darrin Cranney. I have released a new solo recording - "Echoes of Voices". Rob Baker appears on two of the tracks which were recorded at Bathouse. 1) Big Wally's Coliseum - written for Walter Gretzky - has a brilliant lead performance by Robbie. 2) "In Mind" has some of his amazing slide work on it.
Even more special is the version of "Times Are Passing Us By" - which was given special permission by Gord S (who wrote it - and gave me the official version of the lyrics - the correct ones!) .As you know this is a particularly special tune and I was humbled with the opportunity to record it.
You can check out www.darrincranney.com to see some great footage of Robbie tracking at the Bathouse under the Media Section.
Echoes of Voices is now on iTunes.

It has been a truly wonderful experience working with these guys. Absolute class acts through and through.
I have a session on Friday with Johnny and will post some pics .
kindest regards
Darrin
Listening to We are the Same (and its live incarnations) these however many months has made me (and I assume others) rethink past Hip albums and how they rate... so i'm compelled to say:
1. Music at Work
2. We Are the Same
3. Trouble at the Henhouse
4. Fully, Completely
5. In Violet Light
... and the rest are kinda tied for 6th.
There’s nothing left to prove, there's nothing I won't do, nothing like the pain I feel for you

hope this helps!
CLOSED.
One of my favorite recordings of NOIS.
It starts with some annoying guy just chanting SWIM, SWIM.
Then that annoying guy turns out be awesome guy as the whole crowd gets into it and Gord goes along with it.
Everytime I hear this song at a show, this is all I can think about. I wish I could get the whole crowd to chant swim. Really.

***As a side note also. This show has been around for years in various formats. But the original taper just transferred his original master tape. So now a first generation non-mp3 copy is available:

And with a thanx to Chris, Chris some of my older downloads can be found here:

Hi everyone - I am looking to close a few holes in my collection. I have seen all of these shows and would love to get copies of them if anyone has them floating around. If you can post them to the tracker that would be best, however I am open to snail mail or B&P (If I can remember how to do it correctly after all these years!!!).
Thanks for any help.
Colin

Twitter's informed me that there's a new Gord/Sadies tune for Waterkeepers up: http://www.swimdrinkfishmusic.com/item.php?id=127
It's a cover of Randy Newman's "Louisiana, 1927." I don't have an account and therefore can't listen to the whole thing. I'll probably get one if I'm ever less destitute, but in the meantime, has anyone heard the rest of the song?
Hi all,
I watched the video they have for We Are The Same on thehip.com. What do you guys take from that? I'm curious to know what everyone feels the underlying meaning is, unless you think it's just the obvious. If anyone is interested in chatting about it that would be cool!
