Seeing as it's been a while since IBE was released, if the boys were to do a fall or winter tour, they might not feel the need to overload setlists with songs off the latest release (not that I mind, love that album). Wouldn't it be cool to have a contest where fans send in a setlist through hipclub, and one local in each city is selected and given VIP treatment for that show?

I think IBE is due for another video, anyone else agree? This is their best album in a while and I think it deserves another "single". That said, what song off IBE do you guys think should be the next single and video? The first two singles Vac Scar and Nashville were rockin tunes, maybe something a little slower this time, Are We Family or If New Orleans is Beat? Lots of great songs on that album, its a tough choice, I think You're Everywhere would be a great choice.

Can someone help me remember the name of a band..They are definitely Canadian, had a rock sound, they have/had a female lead singer, she had her hair dyed very bright red all the time and usually wore big leather boots, the rest of the band was male and Snake (the real tall guy) from degrassi high was in a couple of their videos. Im pretty sure they are broken up at this point, and I think they were from the east coast, but Im not 100% sure, sorry but thats all I can remember.
I did a search but couldn't find any related topics on the chords for this song.....does anybody know them? It definately sounds like a capo would have to be used.. thanks!! :thumb:

Well, lets see.....what have I been up too. Not much either. I am a flagger now. I direct traffic...and play music occasionally....I hang out with friends, seen willie wonka today at the theater. It was a beautiful day here.
I live a pretty basic life....right now I am listening to Patty Smiths LAND cd disc two...one of my faves other than the hips stuff.....pretty similar raw live energy. pretty neat...pretty neat.
I love GD and the Country of miracles live stuff......the way they improv and make music feel "at home". Awesome.
I dont have alot of hip live stuff...I am sure as long as Gords involved it has the same homey ad lib feel to it.\
I am going to go play guitar now. take it easy 'yall.

With the forming of every band, a foundation must be layed on which that group will focus its direction and attention on. This foundation is built up of the combined influences within its band members. It would be nice to know where the Tragically Hip get their influences from, be it musically before their time, books they have read which influence their songs (such as Hugh Maclennan's "The watch that ends the night." - Courage), or movies and other stories that have struck a chord in the band. Let us attempt to compile a list of things that encapsulate the Tragically Hip influences.
What a great weekend! Anybody else from Cowtown go to this thing? The highlights were many. Jeff Tweedy was especially brilliant, as was Sarah Harmer, The Weakerthans, Steve Earle and Hawksley Workman. Danny Michel was pretty cool too.
