I'm sure I am not the only one to have noticed this in the past little while, and it may be a bit of a touchy subject, but at risk of being attacked I will ask: Does anyone know what's up with Gord Downie's voice latley?
I have been a long time hip fan, and have only just recently noticed that his voice is a little... off. Shal we say. You can notice it just slightly in IBE but that is likely just the classic "on the edge" Gord singing, but ever since I saw them in Calgary, and then at Grey Cup and then at Live 8; I have noticed his voice is a little more... eccentric(is the optimistic word) sometimes even... out of key(dare I say) Something that obviously has not been part of Gord's spectacular portfolio.

Anyone else notice anything funny?

I'm not sure whether this will fly or not, but I'm bored, so let's give it a go.

In real life, I'm a freelance writer. One of the places I write for is a typical left-wing tabloid with young go-getters on the cover and sex ads in the back. Anyway, I've written three "Best of the City" surveys for that particular publication - surveys that ask readers for the best restaurant or the worst politician or whatever - and I thought it might be fun to do a "Best of the Hip."

Im looking forward to this, I like the added DVD that should be interesting. After seeing him play as well as he did at Live8, Im excited to heard some new material, the new song he played at L8 was very good, and he does have lots of great music left in him. Im especially looking forward to this: "Of most importance to Neil devotees though, the singer is once again foreshadowing that his long-rumoured box set project is on the way. In the same message as the release date announcement, Young says that after Prairie Wind comes out, "Archives Volume 1 will follow."

Good to see Neil back in the game, hope he tours close to London, hey if Pearl Jam can come here, anything is possible. :thumb:

I thought Pierre McGuire made a good point when he was speaking to BILL Daly :wink: after the draft. Now that the NHL has its hard salary cap and linkage and all the rest, is there any reason why the NHL can't come back to Winnipeg and Quebec City? I'd be ecstatic if they brought those great franchises back, it will spark some old fantastic rivalries like MTL and QUE those games were always amazing and heated. And I think central Canada is being cheated, there's a void in central Canada and bringing Winnipeg back would fill it greatly. I think its a great idea, the teams can now be run with success and not have to worry about high salaries and trying to compete with the big boys. I think Winnipegers should start picketing the NHL headquarters. Bring back the Jets and Nords!! Who's with me!!

This is an exciting day for hockey fans, Im glad this shit is finally over and we can move on, Im tired of spending my Saturday nights with the wife So its official now the NHL is back!! New look, new rule changes, and I do like most of them, Im glad the "tag-up" rule is back in, and the "two-line" pass is now legal, that should open things up. Im still not sure about the shootouts, have to see how it plays out, it might grow on me. And the big news is coming up in about 10 mins. who will get Crosby? Stay tuned........
