While I really can't see how the CRTC could approve this, this would create an unstopable Canadian media powerhouse.

I've come to the conclusion that this is a band whose music is best served when performed live.

It has also come to my attention that there appear to be large quantities of readily available live recordings of them.

So, what I'd like to know is... what should I have in my collection and how would I go about getting it?

Any pointers would be very much appreciated, you've all been so helpful already. :thumb:

The NME have their usual hyperbole going with this, but no one else has really picked up on this, including no official word on the Weezer website.

If it's over, then it was a good run. My favourite Weezer memory is from Frosh week, sitting around a case of Heiniken with a new friend, listening to the blue album and discussing why it was so much better than Pinkerton. Our Gael (Frosh leader) looks at us and goes "you two will fit in nicely here."

Ty's Story


just returned from Hampton, New Brunswick, where I spent the last three days celebrating the life of my cousin, Tyler Henderson. Tyler was born on February 5, 1986 to my Aunt Mariya and Uncle Ross. On July 1, 2006 after enjoying The Tragically Hip at an outdoor concert with his friends in PEI, Tyler was struck and killed by an impaired driver as he walked towards his campsite.



He was my aunt's son.

He was Tara and Matthew's brother.

He was Katelyn's boyfriend.

He was my cousin.

His death was tragic, pointless and more painful than words can describe. However, over the last three days I have learned about strength, community, friendship and the power of family bonds. I found myself being comforted BY my Aunt. I saw her smile with fond memories, laugh as Tyler's friends shared some of his goofy stories and told how he had invented the word "Adverney" which is the perfect balance between an Adventure and a Journey. I watched his friends dance, play music and sing in the back yard as if he was right in there with them. The road ahead for my Aunt, Uncle and cousins Tara and Matt is paved with sorrow, tears and heartache, but I hope they look back on this celebration and remember how much they are loved by so many people.


As said best by his friends at his funeral - Tyler lived by the motto "Life's a Garden...Dig It!" You know what? I think I will.

I am going to have to bite the bullet and get one of these plastic pieces of rectangular evil. I was just wondering what kind of cards everyone has and some of the pros and cons I should be looking for. Do you get them online? At the bank? I will be using it for concert tickets mostly. Okay, I review gigs for the local paper here in Portsmouth, UK. So I thought I'd share my little reviews with you guys... they aren't great, but I enjoy doing it (it's not my job... I do it for fun and the occasional free ticket). Please feel free to leave comments of any kind.

Billy Talent + Reuben. Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth, 11th July '06

The Wedgewood Rooms were sold out for this event, which was so highly anticipated by it's mostly teenaged audience that many of them were sat outside the venue for hours before the doors opened in an attempt to see their band.

First up were Reuben, whose heavy guitar anthems were marred by sludgy vocals and poor sound. This didn't seem to bother the kids pogo-ing at the front of the stage area though. These youngsters will definitely have sent a few people home as fans.

Most people were here just for one band though, and Toronto's Billy Talent didn't disappoint, their polished Pop Punk driving the crowd crazy from the first chord! They aren't a band that do anything new and they'll probably spend a long time in Fall Out Boy's huge shadow, but a charismatic and friendly lead singer and some tight well played music should ensure a steadily growing fan base, even if their most ardent followers were being thrown about like rag dolls in the mosh pit.

Pick of their short, sharp tunes was The Suffering, a surprisingly mature track that sounded different to most everything else the band played, with a harder, thicker noise reminiscent of Korn. This song in particular invoked a wave of crowd surfing from the audience that, once it had started, refused to stop!
