Sorry if this has been discussed already...I did do the requisite search and came up blank.

I just got a copy of the nashville 99 show:

The drop-off was played in the encore.

Makes you think about how many other new songs are in the Hip vault just waiting to see the light of day.

The Drop-off sounds so, dare i say, modern and it has been around since 99 and possibly earlier.

I just came across this cover band's website and they've got some video samples...It's especially worth watching them play New Orleans and Fully Completely - the singer acts and sings eerily Gord-like.

Everything has their golden age. Whether it be years, albums, comics..what have you. Sometimes it's a personal preference. For instance, The Stones did some of their best stuff in the 70s, Blue Rodeo's best albums were Diamond Mine to Five Days in July. Radiohead is Bends to Kid A...etc, etc.

This doesn't mean that I only like those blocks of time related to those bands...but I do perfer them.

If I had the choice of only one time period for the Hip, it'd have to Road Apples to Phantom Power. To me this block is tops.

Anyone have a different thought?

Okay, I promise that I searched for this before posting and, although I read through some interesting old threads, I didn't find this interview in particular.

There are a number of very cool interviews there and I've listened to many of them. But. The Rob Baker interview doesn't/can't open. The file is corrupted or something. Anyway, I'd love to hear it. It's 26 mins long, so it must be good. Or, atleast it'll be 26 mins long.

I have recently created a Google Earth file showing locations of places mentioned in various Hip songs as well as tour locations for the last 3 years . I have also added it to the The Hip Story Project.

It is a first draft and comments are welcome in order to refine it....
