I looked on covers.hipfans.com and couldn't find one.

I don't think this has been discussed anywhere yet...but...The Rolling Stones are coming to Regina!!! Perhaps there aren't alot of Regina people on this board (which would be unfortunate), but for the rest of you out there, this is without a doubt the biggest concert ever for us...and maybe the biggest event ever.
Now about the Hip connection...I may have mentioned this in other posts from years gone by, but Saskatchewan in general (and Regina in particular) have been snubbed all too often by the Hip.
-ARA 1993, they drove right thru the province between shows in Man. and Alta.
-Spring 1995, drove through the province again, skipping us.
-Fall 1996, played Saskatoon, not Regina.
-Fall 2000, played Saskatoon, not Regina.
-Fall 2004, played Saskatoon, not Regina.

So where am I going with this...first comment, I hope the band considers Regina as a destination on new tours...but most importantly, what are the chances that the Hip will be opening for the Stones on any (or all) of their Canadian dates. I guess last year in Moncton set the precedent, so why not hook up again!!!!

Anybody got anything ... anything at all ... juicy or otherwise ... about the new album. All I know is (i) Bob Rock [don't start]; (ii) Fall release, and (iii) we've been hearing a bunch of potential tracks at the summer shows.

Let's crank up the rumour mill, people!!

Dont know if im using the right words, but i think i am, what songs have the hip used or sang in concert which are not their own. I know they did Black Day in July, which is one of my fav songs of theirs, but what else have they done...

watched this again last night, and talked to my buddies about it..hardly anybody likes this movie, and i don't understand why...it's a great human tragedy...it's a classic monster movie..it's one of the best comic movies ever in my opinion...anybody have any thoughts??

It's been 10 years since the Hip played Edenfest at Mosport Park July 13th 1996. Does anyone have any cool memories of this show?

Of course we all over indulged consuming copious amounts of alcohol and other treats. So when we decided it was finally time to see the show our friend choose to sleep. At that stage I believe Edenfest was one of the larger shows the Hip had played. Live finished their set and welcomed the Hip to the stage. It was then I realized the enormous bowl had filled with people. A very surreal moment indeed!

There were a few technical issues. Sound wasn't great and the video screen stage right was out. Regardless we enjoyed that evening fully and completely!

And after the show in the midst of 60 or 50 thousand people we found our friend who had just awoken from his sleep!

For any R.E.M. fans here, I just read about this last night over at Murmurs.com (http://www.murmurs.com/). EMI is releasing a best of IRS years cd, along with a 2-cd set (includes rarities etc.), and a companion dvd including all music videos (even Wolves, Lower), and a few live performances from the early 80s.

Looks like a great compilation (particularily the dvd), and the b-sides disc looks promising. For the serious fans, I don't know how much will be new material, but I'll be sure to pick it all up on September 12th regardless :thumb:

Two nights ago, here in the Shuswap in BC, I witnessed the most spectacular thunderstorm i've seen in my life. I was able to capture some great footage and uploaded it to youtube. Its five minutes long, the last two minutes are incredible. I'm estimating there were about 50 to 60 strikes per minute, if not more, lasting for well over an hour and a half. Sorry, no sound on the video.
