"Gord Downie has been added to the WE Day lineup in Toronto and will perform a song from his upcoming Secret Path solo album. Downie will perform twice on Wednesday at the Air Canada Centre, first at the afternoon WE Day Toronto event and then at the evening We Day Family concert. The Secret Path album, which is accompanied by a graphic novel and animated film, is inspired by the story of 12-year-old Chanie Wenjack, who died in 1966 after running away from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School near Kenora, Ont. Downie’s performance will be followed by a speech from his brother Mike Downie, who introduced the singer to Wenjack’s story, and a healing song performed by Pearl Wenjack, sister of Chanie Wenjack.
WE Day Toronto will stream live at mtv.ca, while the evening WE Day Family concert will stream live at WE.org/watchweday ."

Wandered into a GT Boutique today, and saw some shirts on the rack.
Two styles. One featuring the Hip crest, and the other, green gargoyles.
Pretty sure these are knock offs, but for a tenner.....
.
What were everyone's thoughts on the extended Gord Downie interview on The National last night? I thought it was incredibly brave considering Gord's revelation that his memory has become faulty. As Gord said "I don't know what my brain is gonna do". He struggled a bit but overall seemed in pretty good shape mentally which was great to see. He mentioned there is a bunch of music in the making "2 or 3 or 4 records sitting in the can" plus a Hip album in the works.
For those that missed it, full interview linked below.

Hey Everbody,
I'm wondering if anyone can or could help me out with this badge that was handed out by q107 for the Toronto shows. Cash trade or you name it.
Kevin Hearn recently posted these on his fb.

From Mansbridge's Instagram: "This is special. Gord talks about his brain cancer, his summer tour and his next big project. This Thursday on The National."
If you need one let me know, face as always. Don't PM.

I am interested in finding out more about how the guys create their songs--everything about it, basically, from how much they bring in ready-made to their writing sessions vs what gets created on the spot, to what each individual tends to contribute to the process. Which usually gets created "first", lyrics or music, & how much does that vary. What I would also really love to uncover is which came first for which songs--I'm curious to find out what songs started out as lyrics to which music was added, & vice versa. Is there a lot of variation from album to album, etc--I'd like to know everything, basically, & anything.
Do any of you have any info about this you would care to share? Stuff you've heard or read in the past. Any suggestions for links to good interviews, articles or videos you've encountered that discuss this? Any guesses & thoughts you have about their creative process would also be much appreciated.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving weekend!
