I've recently found this song the Hip played somewhere from 1989-1999, "Work That Hard". It's a really catchy tune, was wondering if anyone knew from where and when it came. A Museum After Dark and the rest of the internet have yielded nothing, so anyone know it?

I was wondering If anyone has the Full version of this small radio show. I have almost all the tracks except for the last two, I beleive they are Times are passing us by and one other?

Here's an article from CNN.com.

I am really excited to see what develops here. According to the article it is only a 4-episode stint, but I think Schrieber is a fabulously talented actor. I had the chance to see him on Broadway in Betrayal and was amazed.

I was wondering how they were going to fill Grissom's absence (William Petersen is doing somke stage work in Rhode Island, who knew?) and this sounds like a great way to do it.

Will anyone else be tuning in tomorrow night?

....i've been watching quit a bit of movies lately and most recently i've been watching war movies. the last two i watched were full metal jacket and apocalypse now. i must say, i was a bit dissapointed with apocalypse now. i thought it was supposed to be the greatest war movie of all time? i liked full metal jacket and saving private ryan better. i have yet to seeplatoon so that one is probably next. anyways, what war movies are your favourites and any suggestions are appreciated.

The Tragically Hip - The Best Of 2006

This compilation contains recordings from 2006. Many are from different equipment and tapers.
Therefore, the quality of each song varies, some more darastically than others.
A special thanks to all the tapers who recorded all the shows contained in this compilation.
Information on each source is available by searching for the respectable shows on thehiptracker.com.
Tracks from the Canadian club dates were taken from the markslog torrent.

Is this song a GDownie original, if so, why the frig isn't this on one of his albums. This is by far one of the best songs I've ever heard GD sing. Such Simple Lyrics, yet so... Je ne sais quoi, memorable.

don't miss the show this Thursday at the Phoenix. LA WOMAN in it's entirety and some serious encores... the band is going to be serious... no drunk'in lizard king ...just pure musicianship bring back the authentic Doors sound. I've been going to these shows for almost 4 years and often leave astounded at how well they pull off the albums not for note. no tribute crap either...just perfect turntable sound

Read what one of the musicians wrote today about the preparation for the show

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the band has worked extremely hard on this album, perfecting the little inflections and syncopations that made the Doors sound so unique.

Clifton, beyond his voice and talent, brings a presence and charisma to the songs that you need to deliver the lyrical content convincingly. He doesn't mimick (hurray!), but gives Jim's words the cadence and punch they need for full effect.

Mike is finally making good use of his jazz leanings in a Classic Albums Live context, delivering some really tasty licks and fills to authentically reproduce the Kreiger sound.

But I've worked with both these guys before. The treat for me was linking up with Neil and Chris. As a rhythm section, they are as about as tight as two people can get, yet they have a real nice ebb and flow to their playing, and enough groove for the entire audience to share. A lot of eye contact, too, which I appreciate.

For me, along with Crime of the Century and Born To Run, this is about as challenging as keyboard playing gets in Classic Albums Live. Sure, there's lots of juggling of parts and the occasional flourish with the Beatles and Floyd albums, but Ray Manzarek was a true musician. No showy solos for him - a lot of his work was doing variations on a basic melody, playing the same riff a slightly different way several times in a row, which is more difficult than playing, say, the piano solo in In My Life (Beatles) where the phrases are more distinctly different.

The other thing to deal with was how many different sounds Ray got out of his Vox, Gibson and Hammond organs, but I did my homework and I hope that it shows. Ray could get more sounds out of a simple drawbar organ than others can get out of today's synthesizers.

So everyone, please come out to see and hear the show. The album's fantastic, and the outros have been carefully selected. For those who wondered about the first album, yes, there will be songs from that one, but also some surprise choices based upon personal favourites of the band members.

  Thinking of pitching Tragically Hip story to NPR

National Public Radio (NPR) is a national non-profit radio network. It is essential news and talk programing for smart people here in the States. I have been considering suggesting a story about The Tragically Hip to the evening drive time program "All things considered". My concern is selling the story on its cultural relevance. I don't think I should use The old "best band you never heard of" angel. The release of World Container on March sixth and the US tour provide a great opportunity for the programs producers access to the band and its fan base. I am hoping some of y'all might be able to help me with the development of a pitch. Any ideas? :roll:
