So excited to travel to Vegas to see The Hip at HoB again! I saw them there in 02, what a great place to see them.

Anyone else planning on going, we should meet up before...

I am planning on taping and/or video taping the show, as well as the one in San Francisco, which I am definately going to as well.

I am also gonna try to hit up the Anaheim and LA ones too, but, not sure if I will be able to...

I'm looking for a single ticket to the 3/10 Buffalo. While I'd be happy to pay in cash, I've also got two tickets to the 3/23 Buffalo/Toronto hockey game to offer up in trade if anyone is interested.

I've got tickets for the Rochester show and will be traveling down from Ottawa. Does anyone have suggestions on where to stay (cheap but safe hotel) and where to have a few pints before the show.

Someone needs to remind the Hip that their album Music @ Work doesn't end after the first 4 songs. The album contains 14 quality tracks yet the Hip appear reluctant to play any of the last 10 songs live.

I understand that this isn't the most popular album among Hip fans but I'm sure the boys are proud of the songs and would probably enjoy breaking them out from time to time. Now that Fiddler's Green is in the rotation, why not The Pines? Great Song!

The first Hip concert I attended was at the ACC on Dec. 23, 2000. They played Toronto #4, Freak Turbulance, The Completists and Wild Mountain Honey. These songs rocked and yet 3 of them have never been played again. For songs like Stay, Sharks and The Bear it's been even longer. Where is the love?

I'd love to attend a Hip concert where the setlist consisted of songs taken from the last 4-5 tracks on each album, not the firt 4-5. The ACC concert I attended also had On the Verge, 3 Pistols, IOD, Looking for a Place to Happen and EMPEROR PENGUIN, not to mention Pigeon and Yawning. What a Great Show!

Anyway, I didn't want to start another thread about why the Hip don't mix up there setlists or add more gems. I was just listening to Music @ Work and reliving some good memories. I hope to hear some of these tunes as they continue their tour, but I won't hold my breath. Thanks for listening

Just wondering. I know there must be a lot of HIP fans in Chicago who recorded the show on a DVD recorder.
Heck, someone in PEA watched the danged broadcast.

I'm going to be going to the Sault Ste. Marie, Barrie and Sudbury shows next week, and I have always wanted to try my hand at taping, but have never made the investment yet. Now, as usual, it's close to show time and I've got the itch again. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that it may be too late.

I don't really know much about the required equipment, but I have the feeling that getting the right mics, a pre-amp, a recording device, etc., would be hard to do in a local shop, just walking in off the street. Am I correct?

Is there a good set-up that I should be able to assemble quickly without waiting for internet orders and delivey? If so, any advice on what to get, and where? I've looked at web sites like taperssection and dathead, not only today, but in the past as well, but I've never put in enough time to really understand the necessary components or their usual availability.

I know there are some good digital video cameras to be had out there as well, and would consider it, but I'm still worried about the audio, and imagine that I would at least need a decent external mic, if nothing else, to make a worthwhile recording. To me it wouldn't seem worth video taping a show like Sault Ste. Marie or Sudbury (since no one else has "signed up" yet in the other thread) without having a good audio source to go along with it.

i thought this would make for a decent thread. just let us know the last cd or record you picked up. i went down to the record store today and didn't have much luck with finding hidden gems but i did come across Neil Young Unplugged for $10 so i grabbed it. The last vinyl record i bought was a split LP. the bands were the constantines on side A covering four neil young songs and on side B was the unintended covering four gordon lightfoot songs. and finally the last concert dvd i picked up was pink floyd's pulse, its great.
