Can't use my two tickets for tonight.
If anyone is interested, message me.
Does anyone know the huge black guys name that wanders around all the hip shows?
Just grabbed my tickets, man I am lovin' the K-Rock Centre!
Thanks a bunch Rob!!! :thumb: :jump :thumb: :jump :thumb: :jump
I have 6 tickets for sale at face value in row EE (4rh row - fairly centre)
P.S. Will offer a discount if sold as a package.
Please contact me if you are interested.
Best way to reach me is actually by phone : 613.424.4149
Hey all,
LONG time(pre-internet age) hip fan/hip web lurker here (going back to Tales from the Hip/Golden Boy online bootleg CD sales/Henhouse/webring days) that has steadfastly maintained a monitor, but not post policy. Sadly, I have to break my silence and quiet enjoyment of this board. The circumstances leave me little choice.
Unfortunately (and it is KILLING me that I have to do this), I have a single row AA dead centre seat for the October 3rd Hamilton show that I am now no longer able to attend. Needless to say, I wish I could be at this show.
I am looking (and REALLY hoping) to trade this ticket for a single AA or BB seat to the September 30th show.
Anyone?
B.
Hey everyone,
I've got one or two tickets for tonight's Calgary show for sale. They're killer seats--row DDD--and I'm either selling one or two (i.e., if someone needs one, I'll sell them one and go; if someone needs two, I'll sell them both and sit this one out). If you're interested, E-mail me at snjohns@ucalgary.ca. I can meet you at the Jubilee before the show.
Steve
Evening, stalkers.
For those of you who sit up late and night and wonder what Gord Downie's up to on any particular night, I've got some good news for you: I can tell you where he was today, September 22! Gord was at the Hold Steady show in Calgary; I pretty much literally ran into him outside the venue's back door before going in, and since I was sort of flabbergasted to, y'know, run into Gord Downie, I simply congratulated him on yesterday's show, thanked him for "Thugs" and carried on my way.
THS were great, btw. Can't wait for Calgary #2 tomorrow!
Steve
Purchased a couple of tickets ... Way too many people have bailed.
None the less, I have a pair of tickets for the Sept 30th show in Hamilton (they are listed on a few sites, off of here I jsut want face value for them ($102.25 per ticket).
I am located in St. Catharines and will not mail them, in person exchange.
They are located in the second balcony (First row) ... seats will be G205/7 or G209/11 or hell ... both if one more person bails on this concert.
cratch:
Why would you want to bail on the hip .... it boggles my mind.
cratch:
None the less PM me, if i still have the tickets I will gladly provide em at cost.
Thanks!
This sounds like it could be good:
On October 20, 2009, from the shimmering heat of the Texas hill country comes "GOOD AS DEAD" the 3rd release by the anointed kings of Cowboy Metal "Grady" including the highly volatile remake of Tragically Hip's "Boots or Hearts" plus 10 other tales of tejano hallucinations, truck drivers, cattle barons and blackass women. Grady even makes a burnt offering of the Texas outlaw anthem "Whisky River" - a Willie Nelson staple and Johnny Bush classic. Appropriately, the album was recorded and mixed over 3 weeks at Willie's Pedernales studio (Spicewood, TX).
Produced by guitarist Gordie 'Grady' Johnson (whose credits include Govt Mule, Nashville Pussy, Taj Mahal, and string of hit singles for Canadian artists Joel Plaskett, The Trews, The Respectables & Big Sugar) joined by Big Ben on bass and Nina 'the Queena' Singh on drums. "GOOD AS DEAD" perfectly captures the wall of sound that has made 'Grady' a favorite of Austin's Red River underground scene yet it is their most texturally intriguing record to date. You may catch a faint whiff of steel guitar in "Alberta Bones" featuring Clayton Bellamy of The Road Hammers on guest vocals. Accordian wafts above the din of metal on metal in "If I Was King". Vocal contributions of Big Ben and Nina also provide a little salt and lime to go with Grady Johnson's tequila howl. A sound that could only come out of Austin, Texas
Just got a message from Ken Tizzard of the watchmen mentionning that they just put out 2 new songs for download. I've attached the link to their website.
