What a gem of a song! LOVED it from the first time I heard it and cannot stop playing it 3 weeks later. Why this wasn't released on the album and made a single is a mystery to me Confusedcratch: . It has hit written all over it...at least I think. I love Gord's singing on it too :mrgreen: .

To any U2 fans out there. Go check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. I had no plans this weekend and last minute decided to drive down for the weekend. Its 500 kms from Toronto. They have a special exhibit on loan from the boys. Its absolutely amazing for any fan to see. They have tons of stuff on display. Glasses (of course), guitars, clothes, lyrics, Larry's first drum seen in the Boy video, etc. My fav was all the rejection letters that were sent to Bono when the band was looking for a label to sign with. There are these letters there stating that the band did not have it. Pretty funny when you look back on it, someone screwed up.

I took these pictures about 30 minute ago from Vernon BC, Canada. There are major forest fires in this area so on a clean night these could be even clearer.

I took them using my Celeston telescope and my Cannon Powershot A60 2.0 Megapixel digital camera.

The telescope is an entry level scope purchased as Serius Science Center (I think they have have gone completely out of business now, at least around here).

The camera being a 2.0 megapixel is also an entry level peice. The highest MP camera is/was 5 megapixel, I added 'was' because technology changes so fast there's liable to be a better one before I'm done posting Confusedhock:

I took the pictures, (all you real astronomy fans will love this), by focusing in on the Moon and then sticking the camera up to the view finder! lol, not the most professional aproach but I think they turned out pretty damn good considering.

Is there a place in your country or even a different country that you would rather live? Have you ever thought about moving? If not, what do you love about where you live? Family, friends? Just curious, thought this would be an interesting topic. :wink:

I would move to either Virginia or California if I had a choice, because they are warmer and nicer. We haven't moved because of our family and friends being here.( I would most likely stay here in the states if I had a choice to move anywhere in the world, just because it is comfortable for me. )

  Driving Licenses...

How old do you have to be to start driving and get a license on your own..where you live? Here in New York state, you can get a permit and a limited license at age 16. I do believe that this is way too young for such a huge responsibility. Plus, I think it is way too easy to get your license here. The written test is a joke, way too easy, and then the practical driving test takes about 5 minutes on a side road. I don't know, maybe it is just me getting older but I don't think kids are ready at this age to drive. I have witnessed so many acts of carelessness by young drivers. Not to mention, there have been 22 accidents outside my house in the past 2 years. Of those, 11 casualities. Most of those accidents were caused by kids under 18. Something just doesn't seem right. I believe 18 would be good start. Any thoughts or ideas??

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I loved it when I was 16, but I don't think I was mature enough for that kind of responsibility.

Every morning at the crack of dawn, I’d hop into that shiny white one-tonne rig, and convoy my way downtown listening to Kelowna’s only rock radio station FM104.7, The Lizard. You see Sarah, some twisted program director by the name of ‘Scanlon’ thought it’d be funny to play that damned Hundredth Meridian song every day. And after all this daily repetition, the Hip’s “infectious pop melodies” blended with a taste of “small town rock and roll” seeped into my brain. So, I fired down to the record store and picked me up some Canadian pride. Thankfully, we lost the contract and sold the truck. I came to my senses. The thought of it even now makes me shiver. The bland, generic songwriting. The painfully trite guitar solos. The vibrato. God, the horrible, horrible vibrato! And the lyrics... they shot a movie in my hometown too, Gord. It was a low budget science fiction flick starring Mark Hamill, and I would gladly spend an eternity watching that little drop of box office poison if it meant that I never had to hear that stupid “happy hour” song for the rest of my life.

Now, before you start accusing me of being unpatriotic, Sarah, I would like to take this opportunity to display my cancon cred before I find Cesus knocking on my basement suite door. In fact, by my track record, I believe I am but weeks away from stomping a two-by-four into splinters with my boot. So, for your consideration, I have provided a small list that I hope may satiate the committee, and further my chances of securing a Factor grant (the same grant, I’d like to stress, that was acquired by Mr. Downie to release his solo debut despite it being picked up by Universal. Ooo, like you didn’t see that one coming Gordie!).
