Hey folks....new topic for today...so we read today that Arnie has declared he is running for Govenor of California. Is it that crazy of an idea? I don't think so. If the people of California care that little to elect him, then they probably won't care what kind of decisions he makes in power anyways. But my question is-what celebrity would hypothetically make a good Prime Minister? For me it's a no-brainer-Ron McLean. Now that man has backbone, he's smart and well spoken, and above all, he knows how to deal with the most extremes of people (Good ol' Donny C.) So let's hear it folks!!! What celebrity would you think would make a good PM???

A perfect circle will most likely be added to edgefest seeing that they are playing in london on sept 4th, ottawa the 5th and have no date for toronto yet... Ive seen them once and maynard the lead singer also of TOOL puts on a good show thou most here proably wont be into them much.........

I swear the Kraft Dinner here in the US has less in the box than it does in Canada. If somebody has a box handy can you go check what the NET WT is? This American box says 7.25 OZ (206g).

is he talking about the Rex Hotel on Queen St. W? Anyone know? I've been wondering about that for years now.

After the brilliant question proposed by CanuckCorage regarding Hipbasers Uniting (which we will still do regardless), we got to thinking about a private show for Hipbasers, Henhousers and friends. Roughly 400 people or so.

First of all, below is an exerpt from the Hipbasers Unite Topic:

"You would figure that The Hip are well aware of the hipbase and henhouse...so getting a SLIGHTLY better rate should be possible.
I don't see it beeing $250,000, and for sure more than $40,000, but the way I see it is they play a good number of shows in the states and elsewhere at places like the Aladdin Theatre in Portland where there are maybe 800 people in there at $30 Canadian...grossing $24,000 Canadian. Even, if they do a House of Blues Show, there are still only 1400 fans or so, paying $30, grossing $42,000.

If we had 400 people at $100 a head, that's $40,000 gross. Does that sound like much of a difference?

Again, this is the start of this process. Costs, location and feesability are yet to be determined. We will let you know, or if anyone finds anything out, let us know. Use this topic post for providing insight and information.

i would like to take a poll on a new FTP i will run with max 3 users upload users unlimited i have a lot of shows now in shn format and iam willing to set a ftp pretty much rightaway it just needs to go online
what im looking for from hip fans are ppl to help with uploads and videos
minimal videos may not have enuff space
as well as will have a reqst folder for shows ppl are looking for
reply if your for this if not no need to reply

Anyone interested in participating in a meeting of Hipbasers , possibly in southern Ontairio due to it's centralized location and closeness to most of the Canadian and US fans. Holding it on a weekend when the Hip are playing a couple shows in a row , the Hip can usually bang off quite a few shows in Ontario. Anyways we can rent out a campground and make a weekend of it , or longer. It could be an annual or bi-annual event due to Hips touring schedule . Earliest would likely be next year during Hip's Ontario swing . Any thoughts ?

I have been a memeber for almost two months, and I have to say, this is my favourite site to come to to get info on The Hip.

My question is: ( I just got a computer) How do I get in on the action to get downloads of live songs or DVDS?
