i cant seem to get a copy of this song at all. Could somebody who is capable send me the song through email or does anyone know a link that has it for download yet?

I'm getting an emerging band vibe, maybe a high school act, full of confidence and dreams, desperate to be heard... autobiographical?

Perhaps the lead singer, a young man, is equally interested in impressing a specific young lady as he is the record execs. "C'mon over I've got something to play you..."

A summer of hard work, non-stop, back of a flat-bed style "touring" is either taking it's toll, or is being hotly anticipated. But this is going to be THE Summer for this young artist, he'll sing, sing, sing all day.

The young man may not even be a musician, just somebody who loves music, but he see's this summer as a turning point, and he's certainly interested in playing a song for someone, and he's confident they'll love it.

Gord strecthing his range may be his way of self-reflexivly representing the subject of the song. Or as Bullet Riddled wrote: "As for those unreachable notes, I think that's intended. I'm pretty sure this song is about some young people forming a band and writing songs for the first time."

What a party going on right now! It's like watching a breaking news story! They have live continuous coverage on The Score and are showing tons of clips of 17th Avenue. Very reminicent of Robson Street in 1994 (obviously without the riots Smile but the night is still young!)

Once again, either the Flames or Canucks have made the Stanley Cup Final when they faced each other in the first round. First 1989, then 1994, and now 2004. Freakin' spooky!

GO FLAMES GO! Do Canada proud!! :thumb:

Hey all

Just wondering if any of the Sam fans here are making the trip to the Kee this weekend for his show Sunday night. If so, does anyone have an extra ticket or two? As the Rheos said, "it's a bad time to be poor" and when tickets went on sale, my account balance was out to lunch.

Any help would be killer. PM me if possible.

Left-wingers unite! I was thrilled to discover this site, <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.stephenharpersaid.ca">www.stephenharpersaid.ca</a><!-- w --> , on a Liberal website. It's chock full of reasons to fear and distrust the man in question (if those creepy eyes don't do it for ya!).

But all levity and humour at another's expense aside, I am glad to see the Liberal party was not afraid to wade into muddy waters. The staunchest, most old-world an d old-school party we have is showing some signs of being able to bite back! I thought the party - which by process of elimination is the only federal party I can vote for - was a little too stagnant and toothless, but this website shows they've got a nice left hook than can surprise in the late rounds. I figured something like this would come from some random third-party citizens' group, and I even thought the Grits might deliberately push it through a more subtle conduit to "mask" their involvement, but they're not afraid to come out swinging. And in good journalistic fashion, they even have links to every single quote in its original context!

As the election, and therefore electoral defeat, grows closer for Harper, he'll be appearing more and more in the public eye trying to backtrack over his ludicrous comments. Maybe he'll even accidentally say something honest in a while that can be added to the site!

Just a smattering of the pearls of wisdom Mr. Harper, a known racist and homophobe and "gun nut" and big business ally and financially suicidal tax cutter has treated us to:

"In Atlantic Canada...it's only through government favours that there's going to be economic progress"

"Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country....to mask its second-rate status." [socialism - straight from the gates of hell, eh!]
