Hey all, I was listening to edge 102 today and they mentioned that "summer is killing us" will be released on puretracks.com tomrrow at 8am. It was supposed to be available at 1pm today, but they mentioned it had been delayed to tomorrow. I can't way, this is great news!!!
Hey all,
I'm stuck, I'm trying to get a show from my minidisc to computer but need some software suggestions. I'm going from the headphone jack on the minidisc to the line in on the computer but then what do i do? Would it be better to go from my line out on the minidisc to the line in on the computer? How do I get my computer to recognize my minidisc when it is plugged in? Also is there any free software out there that I could download to do this? I know there is some awesome rippers on the forum so any help would be grately appreciated.
anyone know how the sound quality is of the forks war child show? any suggestions of quality sound on any other shows off of 100m?i`ve gotten roxy & elsewhere as well as glastonbury and elsewhere...any suggestions are much appreciated
Hey gang...
I have just listened to "In Between Evolution" in it's entireity to ...and all i can say is WOW!
The album is mostly a rocker and the songs that are mellow are fanstastic sounding somewhat reminiscent of Pigeon Camera at times. No acoustic tracks and...............
Ballroom is on the album and it's called "You're Everywhere"!! Such a good song!
PLUS...Next week "Summer Is Killing Us" will be available to download on Puretracks!!!!!
I was greetd at 3 pm with a copy of the new album by our Universal Music rep. He handed it over to me on the condition that it doesn't leave the room and doesn't get copied in anyway. Of course i agreed especially since Universal is the record company of my other favorite band U2 and i wouldn't want to jeopardize any privileges when their new album is released. I also did not want to disrespect the band, the management, the record comapny or my boss.
So as the record rep went upstairs to handle a Matt Good interview i whipped the cd into my cd player and cranked it up and here is what i was able to get from that experience!
Heaven Is A Better Place Today... Has a Cure feel at the beginning then goes into a jangly song...with a punk rock feel. ...but not hard core punk!
Summer Is Killing Us .... Rocking..kinda sounds like something from Day For Night.. Pretty decent song...should get airplay in the US
Gus... Poor old Gus! I just love this song. Not as rocking as some of the others but a classic nonetheless.
Vaccination Scar We all know this one!
It Can't Be Nashville Every Night.. Great Song! A rocker with a great line.. ."He Said F*ck, This & F*ck That"
If New Orlean Is Beat..Mellow laid back organic sounding song with a real Road Apples feel to it.
You're Everywhere... BALLROOM!!! What more can i say..this song kicks butt! I love the line "The Gang in me is being all it can be" ends with Gord singing "You're Everywhere" 3 to 4 times.
As Makeshift As We Are My favorite song!!!! Has a big group chorus at the end and has slide guitars. Best line " You're as quiet as a fish, I only sing for the whole sea."
Mean Streak Has a nice melow opening with a pigeon camera-esque guitar solo at the end. a memorable line.. "It's the way the dust clings to the air"
Heart Of The Melt awesome song with a great ending and a big guitar sound. "And then of course there's the dorsal fin"
One Night In Copenhagen good song amongst other gems.. "Good fn Luck" yet another song with Gord swearing!
Are We Family Not the strongest song on the cd. My least favorite. "it's only human to want to inhabit everyting you got"
Goodnight Josephine Far better then what we have heard live... a nice ending to a great album.
I love this album.. it is everything i want in a Hip Album except for the fact there are no acoustic tracks. A far more upbeat record then the last 2 and one that will please Hip fans from all era's.
I wish you were all here so you could have enjoyed this with me.
Anyone have it so I can dl it? Or a torrent file.
Help a fellow Hip fan! please!

maybe i couldn't catch up..maybe he could have waited
What Hip song would you use as your intro music?
I gather most of you like to wear capes, tights and big gawdy belts, so let's complete the package and pick an entrance theme:
Mine would be "Thugs." Cool intro, great name... and I often hear it in my head whenever I put on long-lace boots and crack an old lady with a steel chair...
How bout you?
(Yes, I am bored... so what?)
