Great story in the Post today about the cultural impact and evolution of The Simpsons. The 4th season comes out on DVD today, including Conan O'Brien's time at the top, and some of the better known episodes: Pepe, Monorail, Bart and the girl next door: "Two Guys from Kabul"

For me, the best moment from the show isn't so much a funny one, but a touching one.

In the episode where Homer meets and then loses his mother, the show ends with Homer sitting on the trunk of his car and starring at the stars... knowing he'll never see her again. As the credits roll, a shooting star flashes across the screen while good 'ol Homer sits with his feet dangling: sad and reminicent.

That's one of the most heartfelt moments I've ever seen on TV, let alone a cartoon. In great part because we've come to love the character so much.

So, what's your favourite Simpsons moment?

Anyone else alittle happy that the lakers are going to loose this year. Well lets hope its over and done with tonight. If it is one team in the NBA that doesnt deserve the championship its gotta be LA. And if LA cant do it then maybe the entire team should be re-evaluated. I mean it is a starting 5 all-star team.

Shaq and kobe...already won 3 times in the last 5

Payton...old and only came to LA for a ring (haha)

Malone...if stockton isnt getting a ring, neither should you! Tongue

I dont really care, the raptors were out long ago, but i was just hoping, that the disgustingly rich lakers organization would loose this season. GO DETROIT

This afternoon I was listening to the album teasers, yet again, and the lyrical selection from "Mean Streak" sounded really familar. Later, while driving around, I popped in my boot of 10-05-2002 (Syracuse) and found that the same lyrics had been tacked onto the boot's version of "Scared". Did they appear anywhere else on tour? Has this already been brought up and I somehow missed it??

Anyone else see this thing? I just downloaded it last night, I have about 75% of it and GAWD it's a freakin riot. You see Gord in bed smoking with his shoes on and Johnny in a big bubble bath with candles around him. There's also a live version of Cordelia with Gord and his bad sideburns! lol Also, they spell his name Gordan. Is it Gordon or Gordan?

I was talking to some friends the other day, and they said they heard that The Tragically Hip are releasing a new album.

Has anyone else heard about this?
Can anyone confirm or deny it?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help!
