I'm a big reggae fan and I was wondering whether there are any other reggae fans here at Hipbase.
Also - does anybody have any suggestions for good reggae tunes or reggae bands that are worth checking out?
Thanks for the input. :thumb:

Hey everyone
So what songs do you think we'll hear at this show? I don't think it is simply going to be the entire new album played beginning to end. Even on the Edge website it says the Hip will be playing songs from the new album, and some old favourites, and that's just talking about the broadcast. Who knows what they'll play once the broadcast is over.
I would guess at 12-13 songs during the broadcast (90 minutes, allowing time for commercials and interview). Probably 7 or 8 from the new album and 5 old songs (old - as in pre-IBE). And then I would think another 5 or 6 songs once the broadcast is over. So hopefully by the end of it we'll have as many songs as the other club shows.
Anyway, it's going to be amazing no matter what they play!
Nick
Hello everyone. Now that the beginning of the tour has been set.
Who is recording these shows and willing to trade with the masses. I've never been one to record a show but I'm more interested in helping spread the music freely and willing to those who want it. Let the base know if you're going to be recording them. Have fun everyone this tour!!
Shows so far:
June 22nd New Likwid Lounge Edmonton Alberta
June 23rd The Whiskey Calgary Alberta
June 25th Richards on Richards Vancouver BC
June 29th Mod Club Theatre Toronto Ontario
July 1st Molson Amphitheatre Toronto Ontario
July 10th Ottawa Bluesfest Ottawa Ontario
July 11th Wasaga Bluesfest Wasaga Beach Ontarip
July 17th Bayfest Sarnia Ontario
July 23rd Darien Lake Buffalo New York
July 24th Sudbury Bluesfest Sudbury Ontario
OK...now that the opportunity to get tickets for the Canadian club dates has come and gone (congrats to those are were able score tickets), is anyone planning a road trip to attend some US club dates? Assuming the same venues and cities as in the past. BTW...has anyone heard when more dates are going to be announced?
I hit the jackpot this morning and scored two tickets to the show, anyway, I've never been to the mod club and just wondering how the venue is? Thanks....
Quoting the email:
On the Ticketmaster purchase page you will be required to enter the name of
>the person who will be picking up the tickets at the venue and attending
>the show. This person must present his/her valid ID to claim the tickets.
>PLEASE NOTE: Tickets will only be released to the ticketholder(s), as
>designated at the time of purchase, at the venue box office upon entry into
>the club. Therefore, if you've ordered two tickets, you and your guest must
>pick up the tickets together. We've implemented these measures to deter
>scalpers and most importantly, to ensure fans like you can attend this club
>show.
When I bought tickets I didnt' see anywhere to enter the person's name who would be picking up the tickets?? Or does it simply mean the person who's credit card (ie. me) must be the one who goes to the show and picks up the tickets???
So excited!
Nick
Even if they whine and beg for it saying that they didnt get the email. Thanks.
Guess its time to see who has the fastest fingers in he east! Good luck everyone and give a reply with your good  /not so good
TM experinces today
Its gonna get alittle crazy around 9:58am...
for all those people based in Europe on this list (and for those who just want to help a worthy cause) I recommend emailing tth@thehip.com to express our disappointment that Rounder/Zoe are apparently not releasing the new record here (first time since Up To Here for a Hip record!!).
Without a proper release, it will never find its way into record shops, won't be reviewed in magazines and will effect our chances of getting them over here to tour. The HIp's significant international audience deserve easy (and reasonably priced) access to the record!
Send an email and help keep The Hip international!!
thanks!

I'm tired, and before I go to bed, I figured I'd post what we're all thinking: If the Hip had been on the Muppet Show in the late 70's, early 80's, which Muppet would you have wished to see them perform with?
In a skit, the answer is of course Fozzy Bear. As Fozzy was, and remains, the greatest Muppet there ever was. Fozzy gives us so much: He's a cuddly bear, he's got a really cool old school press fedora, and he's a stand-up comic. If Fozzy were a politician, I'd vote for him twice.
As for musical performance: Animal might give Johhny a run for his money, and that guy with the sax kinda looks like Bobby...
