Today in both the Winnipeg Free Press and The Winnipeg Sun there is a good story about The Hip and how Heaven Is A Better Place To Be Today is about Dan Synder/Dany Heatley. I assume if it's in the Winnipeg Sun it will be on www.canoe.ca as well as the rest of the Sun papers across Canada. It was pretty cool though in the Free Press that they printed the story in the Entertainment and the Sports sections. There's also a good picture of Gord in the Sun from the '02 Salt Lake City show.

Don't know if anyone has posted about this. I can't find it online so I'll type type type it out with my tired fingers. It got 4 out 5 stars.

A Canuck national treasure, the Hip still fly below the U.S. radar. They don't write radio-friendly pop songs, and although their bluesy rock is tighter than ever, the songs take time to grow on you. But when they do, be forewarned: This is music that makes you want to drive all night across an endless wasteland of frozen plains (read:Canada)

Sure, I could sell Hip bootlegs for profit on eBay. Ya know, I think I'll put them all up there and buy myself something really nice...at 30 bucks a CD, Wow.

I mean, we are lucky enough that they let us record at the shows without any hassle. It's people like this that will get that priviledge taken away.

Sorry, just hate jackasses like this.

Hey everybody!

I'm new here as of this morning. I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario and moved to Kingston five years ago, and have since adopted it as my new hometown. I just graduated from Queen's University, and in the fall I'll be going to the University of Toronto to do a master's degree. I didn't become a Hip fan till I was a bit older; there isn't the same kind of rabid fan base up in Thunder Bay as there is down here, and since the band never plays there I didn't get to see them until I was nineteen (at the second Minnesota State Zoo Amphitheatre show on the M@W tour, in case you're interested). Seen 'em five times since then, and have two shows lined up in the next three weeks (Ottawa Bluesfest and, uh, the Mod Club  ); favourite albums alternate between FC, RA and D4N on a semi-weekly basis, favourite songs include "Escape is at Hand for the Travellin' Man", "On the Verge", "Emergency" and "Vapour Trails". Looking forward to some great discussions on this board!

Steve

...okay, maybe in another 5 years I'll actually be 38.

Which brings me to the question that may or may not have bee posted in the past. Just curious to see the age range of the regular posters here in the forum. I'll kick things off...

I'm going to be 33 in another couple months.

Anyone else care to share their age?? No lies... Smile
