I am a Guitarist singer/songwriter who is looking for new bassist and guitarist to be in a band.
We are "The End Result", and we're based out of Fredericton, NB.
We love the Hip. We love Pearl Jam.

So it's blatantly obvious that das hips' music is strongly rooted in the blues. And I'm also assuming there's all kinds of blues fans out there on this board. Who's everyone's faves? I just bought two new records, one's a box set, "Shades of Blues", a 3 CD set, great stuff all around.....Lightnin' Hopkins, Bo Diddley, Elmore James. Another one, a double CD set put out by Rounder Records, called "Louisian Spice", highlights 25 years of the blues from Louisiana. Great stuff all around....
But I'm curious to any recommendations you've all got on the blues....let's hear 'em.....

Hey everyone, I bought the Scared single off of Ebay recently and just popped it into the CD player today. It has 2 different versions of DD and SHDB. DD is a little bit slower and mellow and is really quit good. I think Brazle might enjoy it during a 'session'. Also, the intro is very simmilar to the intro they did for DD at the London show.
SHDB is really fast. It doesnt sound too good and you can tell that Gord is trying to drag it out a little bit. It was a good decision to slow it down like they did on the album.
I am not too sure if everyone has heard these, I will check the FTPs and if they arent up I will attempt to upload them.

'Stolen' hockey goal prompts child's 911 call

When road hockey games lead to 911 calls, you know it's time to bring back the NHL. As a bunch of neighbourhood kids played on an street in Elora on Jan. 1, one told a nearby four-year-old his team had been robbed -- a common hockey line that often follows a goalie's big save.
But the little boy took the comment literally.
"Some of the kids said to him, 'Call the cops, someone stole a goal there,' so he went in and called the cops," OPP Sgt. Dave Rektor said yesterday of the call that came into London's 911 centre.
"He wasn't trying to be malicious. It was just the innocence of it that was funny."
After the boy quickly hung up on the 911 dispatcher, they called back to learn the nature of the emergency.
It was the boy's mother, police said, who explained the confusion.
Rektor said police didn't consider the 911 call offside.
"Sometimes we've got to laugh at ourselves," he said.
Ok wise hipbasers, whats the deal with this track?
It's obviously one of, if not, the best track off of IBE, and yet it has been ignored on the tour. So, my question would be:
a) Has anyone seen it live?
b) Why are they not playing it?

Thieves steal tsunami supplies from Nfld. Red Cross

ST. JOHN'S - Thieves ransacked the Red Cross office in St. John's and stole supplies destined for Asia's tsunami disaster victims after failing to find donated money.
Staff arrived at the office Monday to find that vandals had cut phone lines to disable the security system, then kicked in the doors and trashed the place.
They made off with supplies intended for the tsunami victims as well as computers and a van, which was found Monday night.
The vandals tried to break into a safe, but couldn't crack it, said Red Cross regional director Rhonda Kenney. Even if they had succeeded, they would have found the safe empty because the charity deposits donations daily at a bank, she said.
"No money has been stolen and all the donor information has been protected. It's very unfortunate that there are people who are out there who would take advantage of the generosity of others."
To keep up with a flood of public donations for the tsunami relief effort, staff worked overtime to keep the office open on the weekend.
One employee said news of the vandalism gave her goosebumps. "It's really frustrating, it's disappointing and it's confusing," Anna Power said.
The office opened again for business on Tuesday.
I down loaded a show from the hip tracker and now I need to know how to play it on my computer. I have Divx player and windows media. I don't have a DVD burner, so thats not an option. Any help would be great.
