Any OLP fans out there? Does anyone know when their new album is supposed to come out? I can remember them teasing us with new material waay back at Edgefest 2003 with the Hip. I know some bands take their time releasing new material but OLP is usually pretty good with spacing out the albums, those "new songs" they played in Barrie were pretty cool as I recall, I couldnt wait to here a new album. Just wonderin if anyone has a clue :?

They were talking to one of the organizers of the Vancouver bid and he said they are planning a series of concerts to go along with next years tournament. He then went on to say the Hip had expressed interest. How sweet would that be? Anyone between North Battleford and Vancouver is more than welcome to hop in with me.

After 4 months of fighting with Sasktel they finally gave me back my 170 bucks they stole from my account. So I am going to S'toon here in the next couple of days and it is all going towards some new disks. Figure I can get 10 for sure.

Anybody got any suggestions? Any new stuff that you really dig? Here's my last few purchases so you have some idea of what I'm into:

p.s. I forgot to mention how much Hip they played in Grand Forks. When I first walked into the arena Pigeon Camera was playing. Before warm-ups they played the entire Fully Completely album. I should have known we were going to win gold.

Hey everyone, I saw this in the London Free Press today and thought it would be of interest to some of you. Looks like the Waterkeepers are a little bigger than i thought. I am assuming this is the same group that was on the road with the Hip.


Stars set to fundraise in Banff

It's time for star gazing as celebrities such as actor Alec Baldwin arrive in this Rocky Mountain resort to ski and be seen at an environmental fundraiser. It's the third year that environmental lawyer Robert Kennedy Jr. has gathered a collection of glitterati to Banff to raise money for his Waterkeeper Alliance, which fights to protect the health of waterways worldwide. The Oscar-nominated Baldwin is co-hosting the three-day Celebrity Sport Invitational with Meg Ryan. The invitational is the main fundraiser for the non-profit environmental group. Last year's event raised $750,000. Actors Nicollette Sheridan (Desperate Housewives), Peter Fonda, Jason Priestly, William Shatner and Woody Harrelson are also expected to take part.

There is a tsunami benefit concert happening in Vancouver on January 29 with a "special guest" slot still to come.

My rationale for speculating it's the Hip is that Nettwerk/Terry McBride is putting this together, something he helped to do for the Toronto Gig and it has the Nettwerk artists on the bill already ... Sarah, Avril, BNL, etc.

I am a big hip/headstones/hdrc fan and just wanted to say that I am performing standup comedy in kingston Jan 13-15th.

I will be filming these shows for an upcoming dvd.

I recorded my first comedy album in 2002 there and am looking forward to the shows.

Ok, things seem kinda s...l...o...w...around here lately, so I thought I came up with a question. Given that almost everything around new years gets put into a "look back" format I thought this was a good idea.

What gets your vote as the best hipbase thread of 2004? post links if possible.

Anyone listen to the director's commentary on this thing? It's easily the funniest stuff I've ever heard on a dvd. Because it's the "unrated" version, Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay decide that they should talk as dirty as they possibly can before the producers tell them they've crossed the line. Then for no reason whatsoever, Andy Richter and soul singer Lou Rawls (who aren't even in the movie) show up to hang out and chat about the film. It's totally ridiculous, but extremely funny.
