Hi,

I have two tickets to the Hamilton show (Section 126, Row 22, Seats 3 and 4). These appear to be side stage. Face value was $216.75 CDN for both.

Looking to trade these for two to Toronto #2. Would also consider Toronto #3.

Cheers.

Hey all,

My cousin had to back out of the show Sunday night because of work. I have one extra ticket available in Section 118, Row 25. It's credit card entry, so we would have to meet at the gate and you would have to walk in with me. Asking only the face value of $190 for the ticket. Please let me know if interested. Thank you!

Peace & Courage for Gord,
Matt

(Rest assure I am a long time fan and lurker that does not post often- no ticket scalper here!) Smile

I know everyone needs tickets in one of the band's biggest markets, but I have yet to find tickets and it's time to get more persistent here.

Looking for any number of tickets, anywhere in the building, to Toronto 2 or 3. Will also throw in beers and copies of the 2nd edition of my Hip book, Escape is at Hand.

UPDATED - Family member I had offered these to did not take me up on them so they are still available.

I have a pair of tickets I purchased from a fellow hipbase member at the beginning of the month. I was able to get some better seats through the tickets released last week.

Here are the details:

Section 318 Row 13 Seat 5,6 (this is listed as a no alcohol section)

Total price with all fees is $214.30 Canadian.

I am waiting on a response from a family member and I gave them until this afternoon to get back to me but if they do not these are up for grabs after 4:00 PM today.

PM me if you are interested in them.

While killing time on a rainy Sunday I stumbled across a website called the Ear of Newt. On there are a few interesting articles written during the Hip's ascension to the Canrock peak in the early to mid 90's, including one from 1995 (arguably the zenith year of the Hip's commercial powers) with Gord Downie talking about what it was like to open for the Stones and the bands he was most excited to see at ARA '95.

In this one from fall of 1996 Gord D talks about critics, his guitar playing abilities, and the struggles he had trying to re-write a few lines from ABAC:

There are also a few interesting audio interview snippets with Downie from 1989 and 1992. The interviewer would never have survived on radio but once you get past the irritating and amateur question phrasing Downie rescues the conversation with some interesting thoughts and insights. I've put the links for a few of them below. There are others on the website.
