As many of you know, i'm a guitarist. I play in my church's band on occasion, and along with the standard churchy songs and on-topic country songs (this is the South, after all), we play a random instrumental prelude about 5 minutes before each church service.

So tonight, after practising the songs, we're trying to figure out what to play for the prelude. This is what we're playing Sunday morning before church:

That's yours truly playing the intro/verse riff, also playing a REALLY bad version of the lead riffs about 2/3rds in. I'm also the one who "WHOO"s at the end in Gord-style.

This is going to make my month. Now I just have to learn the solo.

Hey all...

We (Classic Rock 101) had Rob Baker live on-air yesterday talking about his show with Striper's Union later that night and revealed that Bob Rock is producing the next album and the guys are in town (Vancouver) as we speak laying tracks down.

They met with Bob rock a few weeks back and felt that we has a perfect fit... they hit it off and are at work on the album.

Rob mentioned a May or June release... of course dates can change for various reasons.

The Strippers Union show last night at the Buffalo Club was great . They played two hip songs... Puttin Down and Small Town Bringdown.

If you have the chance to catch a Strippers Union live show... definitely do it! the songs are excellent live! plus "odds" and "hip" songs as well!

My girlfriend just won 4 floor tickets to see The Rolling Stones this coming Mon. night at the Rogers Centre. No offense to anyone who might be - but I'm not much of a fan. The face value on the tickets is $452.00 each. Does anyone know of a good website (or other means) that I could sell these tickets quick? What do you think I should ask for them? I'm not out to rip anybody off or anything; I would be happy with getting face value.

Any 'basers here read this? I've just started this, so no review yet, but there's a passage early in the novel that'd be of particular interest to Hip fans...if anyone's looking for a few minutes procrastination, or whatever, check the mass market paperback version, page 6...here's hoping one of you guys find it, it'll bring a smile to 'basers everywhere...
