I am heading out to BC at the end of this month and was just wondering if there are any folks on hipbase who know were to find a bit of fun on the island. This is my first time out there and I hear there are some good clubs in Victoria with live music and stuff. As well I was wondering if anyone knows where Emery seed company is in Vancouver.
Hello Hip Fans,
I've been thinking about this a lot and I'd say there's a good bunch of Hip fans in the Southern Ontario area on this board.
I'm willing to bet some of you would be interested in going down to see the hip in the US when the 2006 tour is announced. There are a few cities I know I'd pesonally like to get to in the coming year. Some of them being, Rochester, Detroit, Boston, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Syracuse.
I know I'm writing this post a little early but what can I say, I'm pumped for the upcoming album and tour.
I kinda want to get a feel for who would be interested in going and if there's enough people going, it would be cool to rent a van or even a bus and all travel together. If there's a couple multiple night shows or cities within a few hours of each other, I'd like to do organize some trips with other hipbasers to have a good ol time.
I had a great time last year on my trip with Shannon W and her friend Nathalie and we met a lot of great hipbasers in DC and Philly and I'd like to do it all over again.
So, I was at the rivoli last night (Queen/spadina, toronto) for the Alt.dot com comedy show, when I was informed that the hip were in the front having dinner. So, robbin williams was doing a set (he is filming a movie here now) and the hip caught wind of it and came in to watch..everyone but downie was there..it was great watching robbin williams do stand-up right beside paul and rob. I talked to Rob after the show, nice guy as usual, and he said they are heading into the studio in 2 weeks to start recording!! Can't wait boys....Great night in toronto!

I transcribed it by completely muting the left channel, so the small differences that occur in the left channel (usually variations of the right channel, but an octave higher) are not present in this tab...
I know for certain there are corrections, and if anybody can transcribe the incorrect parts (most noticeably, the area marked 'The Tricky Pattern'), please post them...

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew how to save any of the sympatico streaming concerts from their web site onto your hard drive. Is there any free ware software out there to do this. I know the hip show from the mod club was saved somehow.
any help would be appreciated

Yesterday, while cleaning up around my apartment, I was listening to a show from the "Evening With" tour from Erie, PA. During this show my absolute favorite live (obviously) version of Flamenco is played. I know a handful of people on the board aren't huge fans of Kate's backing vocals on the tour etc, but I think she really adds something to Flamenco. Anyway, for the first time I actually caught what Gord was mumbling around the 4 minute mark. Out of his mouth tumble the words, "that Eric Estrada sure can act." Now, not to be hypercritical, but hearing that certainly soured my opinion of the tune. Somehow the image of Mr. Estrada's 400-toothed-smile doesn't mesh with the original lyrics. Has anyone else ever had one of Gord's quips catch them completely by surprise, and not always for the better?

One of the benefits to being on a campaign, even a sinking ship like this one, is the people you get to meet and work with. Gord's (held back the curtains for...) older brother Mike ran and directed a cute "undecided voter dating-game" piece for the CBC. It airs on the network and Newsworld tonight, so you might still be able to catch it depending on time zone.
Our guy was John Duffy (author of "Fights Of Our Lives") who you may have recently seen being skewered on the TeeVee by psuedo journalist Mike Duffy. This deal didn't turn out much better for John, but Downie was great with all the participants.
Mike Downie is intense, but a little less introspective and meditative than Gord. A bit more easy going.
Anyway, if you haven't seen Heksenketel or any of the "Real Lives" programs, or if you saw them and really liked them, you can catch some of Mike's work on the CBC tonight on News Sunday.
It's a little late now, but just a head up to everyone that season 5 of 24 starts tonight at 8:00 on Fox. Two hours tonight and two hours tommorow night. It is an amazing show, but you need to watch every episode to stay in the loop and know whats going on.
Can't wait to watch Jack Bauer kick some terrorist ass!
