I was on the thehip.com...and they are playing Gus from Saint John NB.
Its great quality and i was wondering if the hip are thinking about releasing more shows to download. Pearl Jam does this and i think its a great idea...they upload all their live shows and you can buy them online...after hearing this song, i'm assuming the whole show was taped..it was one of the best shows i've ever seen and would LOVE to have the whole thing...i'm pretty sure that there wasn't any tapers there too.....thanks MAV or anyone who knows....

I'm sure we've all had them, thru movies, shows, or music. This being a music forum, I decided to share mine, as I was recently reminded of it just now......

These are the moments that make the hair stand on the back of your neck, the moments that make time seem meaningless, that make the current second stretch out to the left and right, seemingly to infinity. All conciousness, or at least self conciousness is lost, and you become a part of a symbiotic being, "the crowd", or perhaps you are alone listening, and you are taken away, away from the current moment, and into somehere else.....

wow.... that was deep, and all I'm drinking is diet pepsi!

Anyway, onto my examples!

During the U2 show at Red Rocks that's on "Under a Blood Red Sky", they play 40. If you listen on CD (which is what reminded me of this), they fade out with the crowd singing "how long, to sing this song" after the band has left the stage.

If you watch the tape, after a few minutes of crowd singing, the Edge comes back out solo, with a huge smile on his face, plugs his guitar back in, and plays that awesome rolling bassy guitar part of 40, while the crowd keeps singing......... I get chills every time I think of this, (and remembering when U2 was just a band, not a corporation)


I also remember seeing Radiohead in Montreal on the island outdoors. It was a rather depressing period in my life for several reasons, but during that show, nothing mattered. It all went away as we danced, jumped, and sang along to Street Spirit and Idioteuqe and You and Who's Army and Karma Police. That night cemented to me that yes.... music can actually take you away, and take away your pain, without alcohol, without chemicals of any kind, just simple vibrations in the air that get receieved by your eardrums, who then pass the message to your brain...... and the rest is magic.

What were you guys saying last year about wearing team Canada jerseys and waving the canadian flag at hip shows?

On Ebay today they had 560 items for The Hip.
A whole bunch were digital downloads - do The Hip get any money from this or is it a scam?

I just figured this would be kindof fun, because I have favourite Hip songs, but that doesn't always reflect the results.

Is it just me or does the starting of grace too send chills down other people's spines too? Especially when they draw out the drums at the beginning like they do in the version posted at thehip.com right now.
