I bought a CD on eBay called "In Concert - The Tragically Hip / Midnight Oil" and I plan on posting it on the tracker... as long as we can identify the show.

The DJ announces that it was recorded at The Roxy on Sunset Strip; but the shows listed at The Roxy in the setlist database don't match up.

The show was broadcast the week of November 22, 1993. It is a soundboard recording, with excellent sound. The CDs are stright from the radio station and include all of the commercials, and the seller even sent the broadcast notes with cues, timing, etc. I think that these were included on a Roxy and Elsewhere... compilation, because I've heard bits of this show before

my buddies and i were discussing this the other night over a few beers, and the name that came up the most was Ron Francis...any thoughts?? could be from any sport!

i tried to get them agree on steve young with me, but they seem to think he gets the recognition he deserves..i still disagree thinking he'll forever be shadowed by joe montana, and that his stats would be so much better if he'd been a starter earlier in his career...

This kind of audio-cum-visual treatment is a stroke of genius, especially for a band that's built a core audience through electrifying live shows, as The Tragically Hip has done. "Hipeponymous" is a great introduction to a band most people in this country haven't even heard of.

i was wondering if anyone knows of any good downloadable programs for a Mac OSX that i could convert an AVI to anything so that it will open in iMovie.

Chris got me a sweet copy of Wheat Kings i wanted as an AVI but it won't open in iMovie, anyone know why? or what i can do to get it in?

Well, "The Sweet Hereafter" and "Men With Brooms" featured HIP music (and maybe the Milgard story did too, I never saw it) my post is simply this, if you could turn one HIP song into a movie, what would it be and why? [I guess the easiest or most obvious would be "38 Years" since you could begin the movie with the whole dramatic prison break scene and than rewind back to when "Micheal" was just a boy growing up in Kingston, the events leading up to the climax which is the events in the song and than of course end with him back in jail as the opening of "38 Years" plays as the end credits begin to scroll. ]
