Besides their upcoming shows with the Hip, has anybody heard any recent news on these guys?? It's been almost 3 years since Reconstruction Site came out, and their website isn't updated very often. I assume they're working on a new album, but I haven't heard anything. John Samson is known for taking his time with his lyrics, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're still in writing mode. But man, it's been a long wait. These guys are freakin' brilliant, and I can't wait to hear what they do next. Too bad I'll be stuck in Calgary while you lucky folks in TO will no doubt be witnessing the debut of new material from both the Hip AND the Weakerthans. Lucky bastards!

But don't worry about me. I'll be sure to rub your noses in it after I get back from the Sasquatch Festival.

I been sitting here thinking about some of the best fights I have seen in the last couple of years. I always keep coming back to Gatti v Ward. I was just wondering who you think had the most exciting rivalry in boxing?

1.) Gatti V Ward (I guess that I just love the stand there and throw styles)

I know this is prolly a really stupid question but recently the message board on tracker.hipfans.com has disappeared from my screen and i dont know how to get it back. any ideas?

For years I have sat and wondered, "why would anyone listen to this music? what does anybody gain from this?" I have degraded many a band, such as Motley Crue over the years, and I was very intrigued as by why anyone would like it.

Last night, I finally got it. It may seem awkward, but the atmosphere at the concert was unlike anything I've ever felt. Somewhere between Dr. Feelgood and Same Old Situation, it hit me. I can't even describe it. At first I was thinking "what the hell am I doing here." By the end, I was on my feet, cheering with everybody else there. Say what you want about "bands don't need stage shows if they like their music," but, my god, the pryrotechnics added so much to the feel. The insane drum interlude with Tommy flying through the air. And yes, even Vince Neil's chopper made for an exhilirating evening.

Through the thick concert fog, watching their cocky stage presence was also envigorating. I would gladly go see them again. And I guess its kindof hard to "get it" unless you were there.

I had very low expectations, but I was more than pleasantly surprised last night. Touché, Crue, touché.

Anybody else see them on this tour?

Heard through a friend that the Hip are playing Guelph Lake on June 18th...keep in mind its just what I heard.

is there a circulating copy of the DFN demos without all that pop and hiss? thyere awesome but barely listenable. and if so, can someone point me in theyre direction?

NB - i really dont want to use torrent in getting them, this computer is insanely slow.

One question...it doesn't say "No Recorders Allowed" anywhere on the ticket. Does anyone know what Fort York's recording policy is? I've never been to a show there.

This isn't a dig, as I don't think my Senators will fare much better without Hasek, but was I ever surprised to see the Leafs dweling in the basement in the paper this morning. I figured the off-season moves would have done them well, apprently not.
