Get be hind the Mule!

This might be a nice weekend...but you may know upstate NY in early June...black flies and thunder storms. But Mike Gordon is playiing and a TBA might wind up being Trey so I'm thinking Government Phish: Mike Gordon, Matt Abts, Warren and Trey going off. This is the second year and RR jammed with Mule last year. Just as he joined them in Boston last spring.

If you've seen any of the bands above, pipe up.

MMW were really great the one time I saw them.

The Slip blew my mind when I saw them in Waitsfield, VT in October of '04. Sunday night of a 3 day Harvest festival at the (now defunct) Equinox Theater. Real tight, funky, power trio. Very Boston...kinda like Morphine on speed.

Used to ski Hunter Mt. as a kid. Our HS team had a trip there every winter...just a day ride, really. Must be a coupla three Hipbasers within 300K of New Paltz.

I was just watching cp24 and they announced " frontman for the tragically hip Gord Downie was arrested in the beaches area of toronto for shoplifting"

Looked on the internet and a few Tragically Hip sites but I couldn't find the lyrics for the song Vegas Strip (from Phantom Power Demos). Anyone happen to have them? Also does anyone know if they played this song live at all? I'm a big fan of it.

We are looking for an Support Technician responsible for supporting the needs of Hipbase.com business office and coordinating technical resources at various locations. I couldn't find any Gord Downie without the Tragically Hip bootlegs here, are they are allowed? I only have a couple bootlegs (and in just mp3, sorry) but I could torrent them if anyone is intrested. Hopefully someone has a much better collection out there that they could seed.

Ones I got:
1992-11-06 - 1 track - Gord Downie with the Skydiggers
1997-03-08 - 3 tracks - Gord Downie with the Rheostatics
1997-07-26 - 1 track - Short radio interview with Gord Downie
2003-07-01 - 16 tracks - Much Music Concert/Interview (the only real solo Downie show i got)
2004-07-13 - 1 track - Gord singing O'Canada at MLB All-Star Game

(pretty sad collection, eh?)

...it seems that every week I find myself rediscovering an awesome Hip tune that I've overlooked. I mean, they don't become my favourite(s), but I learn to appreciate them anymore. Am I the only one this happens too?

Two weeks ago, I rediscovered "Save The Planet".
Last week I couldn't get enough of "Bring It All Back".
And today, I caught myself listening to "Ouch" a whole lot... and I'm predicting that this coming week that will be the song. It's cool seeing a hip song in a new way for the first time.

Here are some lyrics from the new Wheatus album out:

Hmmm, what song was being played. At first I thought maybe it was 700 Ft. Ceiling of Fireworks (hockey matches) or something along those lines. Any other guesses?

This show hasn't been offically announced as of yet but in the Buffalo area word spread fast that they will play Artpark <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.artpark.net">www.artpark.net</a><!-- w --> which is about 10 miles north of Niagara Falls on Saturday June 17. Most shows here have a set ticket price of between $30-$40(us). The place holds 15,000 people for an outdoor event. The park fits the Hip's style.
