I was thinking about posting this in the hip disscussion forum, but since it's not official, I thought my specualation will go here instead.

The guy that won this contest on 102.1 the edge got a bunch of prizes, one of them being a concert by a band of his choice. We now know that the concert will be open to the public. I've said to friends of mine that if I had won this prize it would be the hip(of course), but I'm getting the feeling that the guy who won is going to choose them as well. During the afternoon, Josie (the afternoon DJ) mentioned that she knew the details of the concert (which will be announced on monday morning) and she said it's probably the biggest band in Canada. That leave the door open for only a select few bands. It think us in Toronto are gonna be getting another Hip concert real soon.........

I still can't believe you. Do you have any idea how rude / inconsiderate / disrespectful that was? Being fans of a band that is definitively Canadian, after tonight I can say for the first time that I was ashamed to be from Canada. I have no idea how you can practically boo one of the most original and creative and AMAZING groups in the country off the stage, just so you can see your precious Hip 5 minutes sooner (even though they came on 20 minutes late, but that's beside the fact).

I had an amazing time tonight regardless, but I was very disappointed with the crowd.

If you have any constructive criticism other than "you suck," "The Weakerthans suck," or "fuck either of us," I'd love to hear it, but until then Hip fans have been labelled as assholes.

As we all know the hips setlists have been nothing short of wild, much to the pleasure of us hipbasers. (I'm still in shock from daddy and titanic)

Just want to make some quick predictions of some songs that HAVE NOT been played in the last couple tours that will come out tonight/tomorrow night. Three song guess.

1. Emperor Penguin
2. Vapour Trails
3. Opiated

This is shaping up to be the best tour since "evening with", who knows maybe that why there bringing these gems back is too get reaady for the winter evening with tour *prays*

Since the charlottetown show is coming up in one week the excitement is building inside of me.

I guess what I want to know is at what point does it hit you and how hard does it hit you?

Does it increase gradually? Are you as excited the day the show is announced as you are walking into the venue?

Interested to hear from people who have been to many shows as well and how it may have fluctuated from first show to 50th show. if at all.

Just talking about the pre-show feelings people have. Speaking for myself, I gotta say I'm pumped. Up until the show was announced for PEI i was actually becoming paranoid. Thinking maybe they will never come back to the maritimes Maybe tragedy will strike someone in the band, or strike me before i see the hip again. Stupid thinking i know but i was especially worried cause i'd missed the last show in halifax and grieving hard. so when i heard the news it was a tremendous relief feeling and now that that is out of the way, strong anticipation is setting in.

I'm taking a first-timer who is familiar with all of their songs but doesn't really know how awesome the live show is yet so she isn't really psyched like me or you would be. i wonder how that will change after this show for her.

so gates are at 5, but when do all the bands go on.
any idea what time the hip take the stage at?

Hey All,

So as many of you have guessed, I was blessed enough to be able to take some pictures of my favourite band on Wednesday. I am really happy with the way that they turned out and so I thought I would share a bunch with you all.

I took 550 pictures and so I couldn't post them all (even though I wanted to). I have included a few below but the rest of the set that has been uploaded is posted online at:

You will notice that the resolution isn't in the highest regard...well that is because I only have so much space that I can use online. Plus, to process all of the images will take some time and I wanted to share some of them with you guys right away - which meant low-res copies of course!

Even though my Fiance thinks that I love them more then her (might be some truth there :lol: :lol: ), I would say that to have a chance to take these pics was well worth it!

How do I get from Hamilton to the Ft. York venue from GO train/bus/subway/streetcar etc?

Sorry I have no knowlege of Toronto other than getting to Union Station.

Also, what points of refreshment are in the immediate vicinity? Anything else I should be aware of?
