From what I gathered watching 'The Hour' tonight on CBC, the Hip will be in 'the Hour' studio on October 15th. George Stroumboulopoulos' comment was that they will be playing songs off their new album; I am not entirely sure if that entails another song accompanied with a video montage, or in fact, a live studio performance, but I believe it to be the latter.

I'm also not so sure of the date. I swear, I swear, that George said it was the 15th, but apparently the show only runs Monday to Thursday (the 16th to 19th in that week), so perhaps that date might need to be confirmed.

Either way, he mentioned how Hip albums are like crack for metaphorically crack-addicted Hip fans, and that their new album was fantastic, indeed a hit that we all need. I normally question the comments of TV personalities, but I've always felt that George S. knows what he's talking about.

If you want tickets to the studio taping, tomorrow during the show they will be airing Hip Trivia to which we all can answer to win tickets.

Tonight, the airwaves (on the internet) will start broadcasting at approximately 7:00 est. At first, random live Hip will be playing, but plans are in the works for specific shows in the very near future. Tonight, to kick it all off, 100 live Hip songs will be played back to back. At 7:00 the feed and link will be posted, and it will be transmitting something random. At 7:05, the official show will start.

I hope you enjoy this on your Monday evening before heading back to work for the week.

Hey guys!
I finally entered the real world with broadband internet connection! I just got a new pc also. I can't figure out how to download torrents from the tracker. When I click on download it seems to only download the info about the show . Sorry for the ignorance here but I want to get things up & running by the 17th. any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

anyone see it yet? i went last night, it was grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat. pretty much what i expected, pretty much the same thing as the tv show, but there's no camera crew following them around or anything like that...all the characters are there for the most part (no Sam, Cyrus, Terry or Dennis though)...one thing that disappointed me is that J-Roc doesn't really say anything funny (or anything at all really...he raps a bit, but no memorable lines)...the music is great, there's some hip, rush, tea party, wintersleep, april wine...

when they're at the movie theatre in the movie, all the movies are hip/rush song titles...i won't say anymore, but pay attention for that (although it's pretty hard to miss)...also, there's a poster for FUBAR and ... fuck, i foget, but it's another Canadian movie...


the past 12 months have been great for Canadian film...first the Rocket, then Bon Cop Bad Cop, and now this...fuckineh :thumb: !

everybody go see TPB the movie! at least once! i'm goin to see it again on cheap night for sure!

So am I the only one who had no idea K-OS was putting a new record out? You'd think that with all the acclaim he received from Joyful Rebellion, this album would've been hyped a little more. I don't remember hearing anything about it. Anyway, it's coming out on Tuesday. Here's a great review from Canoe:

hey everyone...

i am sure like all of you are, i can't wait for oct. 17th when the new album is released. Just saw the In View video for the first time and i must say, Gord seems to be getting more energy as he gets a bit older lol. Much different video then we are use to seeing from the Hip, but i like it.

I was just wondering if anyone here has figured out, or know where i can go to find the chords to In View. I know its only been out a few weeks but someone out there has to be on the ball and got it figured out already. if anyone can help that would be great.
