Can anyone recommend a good gift for my soon-to-be 50-year-old parents for Christmas?

I want to send them out to a concert or show or something because during the summer they are at the cottage every weekend but in the winter they are bored out of their skulls and don't get out much. I've been looking at upcoming concerts & comedians but the pickings are slim. At this point I'm leaning towards tickets to George Carlin + a one-night hotel stay in TO in March.

Has anyone out there seen Carlin live?... I'm sure they'd love Carlin, but just wondering if can anyone recommend someone else (or someone better) that I could look into?

Most everyone that I've talked to has very strong negative thoughts about ticket scalpers; are the people who are selling PS3s and Nintendo Wiis on eBay for crazy amounts any different than a ticket scalper?

Buy a hot product that is selling out everywhere and then sell it at an outrageous mark-up.

This question was prompted by a co-worker who wanted to get a PS3 for his kids for Christmas. He works full time and can't wait at the local WalMart for their random release of systems. Now it appears his only option to get one is eBay. He's not going to do it, and has told his kids that they'll get it in the new year when the demand dies down.

At ticketmaster.ca they say my tickets have been printed, and you should only worry if it's within 48 hours of the show....well I'm worrying now!! Any help guys?

Just curious, does anyone know if a source for this show ever popped up that didn't have the digital noise on the last four tracks? I'd got it from two different people, both times with that static, so I'm not optimistic, but still...doesn't hurt to ask.

Has anyone on here read the book and/or seen the film? If you haven', then you really should - both are outstanding!

I finished the book yesterday, and the film (co-incidentally) was on tonight. Both are absolutely amazing. Joe Simpson has to be one of the most mentally strong people ever. I can't even begin to contemplate what he went through.

Get them while you can. On the Sam Roberts board there was mention of a special on sale for thehip.com members listed on the ticketmaster site, but it looks like that's been removed, so I'm posting this here for the time being.
