Just heard from a Hip Head who caught TMTCH over the weekend and chatted with them after the show. Turns out the members of the band have never heard their mention in "Bobcaygeon." I find it hard to believe, but apparently they were genuinely interested and totally oblivious. Kinda interesting on this ten year anniversary of that wonderful summer of Phantom Power.

Anybody know who manages them, how to reach them, so we can tilt the rock they've been living under?

Anybody see the new movie yet? The reviews have been harsh, but I saw it on Friday night and it's not as bad as everybody says it is. I thought it was an adequate thriller, but the story just wasn't weird or scary enough to be an X-File. It was actually much more like an episode of Chris Carter's other series, Millennium. A serial killer/C.S.I. type of story with no real paranormal aspect, other than that the man leading the FBI to all the clues has a psychic connection to the victims. That being said, it was still fun to re-visit Mulder & Scully. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were both terrific in the roles that made them famous, and they deserved a much better story. Carter really dropped the ball with this one. The movie was a huge flop this weekend, finishing 4th behind Mama Mia. If they actually end up doing a 3rd X-Files flick, it'll have to be straight-to-DVD I'm afraid. There's no way Fox will greenlight another one of these, which is too bad. It would've been cool to see this movie become a hit and revive the franchise.

note: for some reason I can't remember now, I taped the show and then decided to copy the recording to another tape. So the source tape is 2nd generation. I did however made the copy by hooking my NAD deck upo to my dad's NAD deck, so the loss is minimal, but still. The eq-ing I did was just taking out some frequencies to get rid of the muddiness of the sound caused by the tape-to-tape dubbing. I used Maxell XL tapes for both the original recording and the copy.
This is a good recording of a great peformance. Especially New Orleans Is Sinking is ace, with Gordon doing a rant about scuba diving for the police and singing a bit from Joni Mitchell's Little Green. I never saw this performance on eihther Dime or The Tragically Hip torrent tracker, so I decided to share mine. Enjoy!

This may seem like a weird request but I'm looking for some help w/ music for a somber mood. The kind of mood where you just kinda sit there and stare into space and FEEL the songs. Not so much depressed but where your just into a zone and you can feel the music go through you (and not in a chemicaly induced zone, just there) I have a few already that I own but I'm looking to expand and though this would be a good place to get help. Pretty interesting, Paul Westerberg has released his new album "49:00" as a download.
It's 43 minutes, one big file, about 12 full songs, snippets of many others...some lasting
only a line. Apparently he's been on a huge songwriting spree. The snippets are said to
be a glimpse into that. It's damn great and pure Paul. And it's only 49 cents.

Once again this album will probably be overlooked as he is the "poor man's Springsteen", but I've always enjoyed his work so much more than The Boss.
