My favorite Hip shirt, by far, is below. I have loved this shirt from day one.
I bought it in, I believe 1998, and brought it home.
Simple and nothing much to it.
The first day I put it on I had some friends over the house. We had some chicken wings and some bleu cheese during watching some hockey.
Very first bite of a wing I spilled bleu cheese huge right on it. Damn that sucked.
I still wear it proudly until this day 20 years later.

I've been hypnotized by the bends' phrase 'magnet themes' & I'm trying to write something about it. I'm having some trouble finding my way into & thru the idea, but at the moment I'm thoroughly parked in 'Grace Too' & I have some questions I can't answer. So if you have suggestions or answers, I'd appreciate hearing them.

Turns out it might be all about Gord S, lol. I mean, is that him--is that the bass--that is the opening guitar riff of 'Grace Too'? The central riff, you could say, the dark heart about which the rest of the song spins. The magnet that draws everything else to it--is that Gord S's bass?

& if it is, are there other songs you can think of where the bass seems to be central to what's going on, or where what you notice about the music/song in fact turns out to be the sound Gord S is making with his bass?

Also. How would you describe Gord S's role in 'Scared' & "Locked in The Trunk of a Car'? Where is the bass, where do you notice it, what role is it playing etc. Whatever you think of.

I'm not a musician & I find it hard to distinguish what each of the guys in the band is contributing--is that guitar? Is it bass? Is it more cowbell? It's always just sort of been a gorgeous wash of music that acted as background to Gord's voice & words. But I realize in the same way that a magnet acts invisibly, the work of each of the musicians in the band is contributing a powerful riptide pull in the Hip's work.

I am looking forward to hearing any & all ideas & tangents. cheers!

Seeing as we are moving onto August already, I figured I would start a thread to discuss what we should do for the bootleg club come September.

After some tinkering during the first edition, I'm looking for feedback from you guys. What worked? What didn't work?
Most importantly however...

How should we proceed with edition 2?

This is just an idea, but how would everyone feel if we didn't simply select a show, but rather each participant gets assigned a random year, and your selection has to be from the year you were assigned?

I'm also open to any other ideas, would love some feedback.

I have entered into an agreement to purchase some vinyl from a member here. The problem is, he is having a hard time finding a satisfactory type of box/packaging to ship the item - it will be going across 2 provinces. Any ideas/suggestions on what to use and where to obtain???

I have an autographed copy of Hipeponymous that I bought at a charity golf tournament in 2011 in the Kingston area and would like to sell it to someone as it is surplus to my needs. I'll likely post it online but would prefer to sell it to someone here.

Honestly though, I have no idea what it would be worth. It has autographs from all 5 guys and has all 4 discs inside that came in the original package.
