I was able to sit down with my guitar for a few minutes tonight. Here's what I got...

Coffee Girl sounds like F C Am G repeated

Now the Struggle Has a Name:
Verse:
C D G Am X2
C Dsus2/sus4 G Am X2
(Dsus2/sus4 - X54030)

Pre chorus: E5 D5

Chorus: Am C D G

That's all I got so far. Anyone else have a chance to play around with these songs?

So who had the pull at Power 97 to get them to play the matchups? That's awesome. I thought it would be a one time thing but I guess not.

I haven't listened yet. Do they mention the hipbase and the contest?

This was news to me but Radiohead has re-issued Pablo Honey, The Bends and OK Computer into collector's edition albums with b-sides, demos and live tracks. Even thought its probably a money grab, its a good money grab, and Im such a completist when it comes to music, so Im all for ideas like this.

Here's a review for The Bends CE: http://music.ign.com/articles/965/965814p1.html

(links to the other album reviews are on the sidebar near the bottom, if you want to know what each album offers.)

I still cant make a decision. And I only have a couple days left if I want to snag a freebee on the presale order.
I really want the LP and it comes with a digital download cupon for the cd also.
But BUT BUT I want the LFTV Cd also.
Then again the Fan Pack calls to me.

I cant make up my fuckin mind.
So I was wondering if anybody else had this problem or if it was a simple decision.

It was going to be asked sooner or later. I was thinking of waiting until the album is actually released but I've been so intrugued by the differences in opinion among all of us over which song is our favorite on the new album. i couldnt resist.

In my opinion, A true blue recipie for a "Masterpiece" album is one where there is no definitive best song. Where each song has its own fighters chance at taking that crown and i think we could very well have of those on our hands here (way to early to say for sure. this album is definitely a detattchment from the norm for The Hip and with that, Im sure theres going to be a number of haters along with the lovers in the crowd... as is the case with most things anyway)

So I offer up this poll for those of you who have heard the album to make your choice on which song is your favorite so far. Opinions do change over multiple listens so as you digest the album more thuroughly you can come back and change your vote at any time and hopefully this poll will still be alive and kicking when the album officially drops for the rest of you strong willed souls to make your own choices then!

WASHINGTON, March 24, 2009 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ ----(Planet Earth) - Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA) says every vote counts, even if it's for an election that is out of this world.

"NASA decided to hold an election to name its new room at the international space station and the clear winner is Stephen Colbert," said Fattah. "The people have spoken, and Stephen Colbert won it fair and square - even if his campaign was a bit over the top."

NASA offered four possibilities in its on-line contest to name Nodule 3 in the new international space station, but also allowed write-in votes. Colbert generated 230,539 write-ins with appeals on his late-night "Colbert Report."

A member of the House Appropriations Committee's Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies, which oversees funding for NASA, Fattah was quick to add: "This is not about dollars, but it's got to make sense to the American people. We insist on democracy in orbit."

NASA says it reserves the right to choose an appropriate name and disregard the final vote count. NASA's top choice Serenity finished 40,000 votes behind Colbert. If NASA has its way and grounds Colbert, Congressman Fattah said, "When Americans look to the sky, they may see 'Serenity' but there will be no serenity here on earth."

Match-up #10 - Thugs Vs. Long Time Running
I ask you to listen to the two songs in the match-up Back to Back, and consider the lyrics of the song. Feel free to post an unbiased analysis of both songs in this thread, but please refrain from cheerleading or making predictions for your favourites.

As always, you can hear both songs played back to back streaming online at http://www.power97.com at 11PM CST, 12AM EST.

Ok, so Ive listened to the 10 second preview clips, but cant bring myself to illegally download any of the poor quality full songs. I will wait.
But from the preview clips, I actually LOVE the sound of Speed River.
And officially guess speed river as the WATS tour opening song.
Whats your guess?
