  FOR SALE: 2 Wilco tickets for Artpark

I can't go to the concert, and I'm just looking to make my money back on the tickets. I have two tickets for sale in section STR row EE seats 28 & 30 (the seats are next to each other), cost - 90 bucks U.S. for the pair.
The Wilco concert is at Artpark in Lewiston, NY on Sunday, July 19.

The Tragically Hip's "The Last Recluse" imbues a tale of crumbling romance with decidedly Canadian imagery.

NPR.org, June 8, 2009 - For two decades, The Tragically Hip has built a reputation for smart, moody, folk-tinged rock music, in the process winning a huge grassroots audience in its native Canada. The band has long followed the adage, "Write what you know," lacing its tales of everyday life with striking images of Canada's environs and culture.

Both are abundant in "The Last Recluse," a gorgeous ballad from The Tragically Hip's latest album, We Are the Same. Referencing the graceful and cantankerous bird bearing the country's name, as well as the sculpture gracing the Canadian $20 bill (Bill Reid's "The Spirit of Haida Gwaii, the Black Canoe"), the group imbues what could be a stock tale of crumbling romance with lovely, poetic ambiguity.

Singer Gordon Downie has a voice unburnished by any kind of gravelly gruffness; instead, its clean, pure attack strikes a balance between dryness and sweetness. As guitars, keyboard, mandolin and accordion converge, he fires off questions that may never be resolved: "Who are you? The last recluse?" "The last Canada goose?" "What will I do without you?" The song closes with a layered, wordless chorus of voices, while Downie exits with a series of exclamations — "Who are you?" — that feel like mournful, unanswered bird calls ringing across the water.

Hip Artpark run, viewed from the afterglow
The Tragically Hip's four-night run at Artpark kicked off the summer concert season in a big way last week. With the dust settling, and the inevitable deep blue feeling that comes with the afterglow, one is left wondering if anything else that happens this summer will manage to evoke such sustained feelings of elevation. (My money's on Wilco!)

All four shows - three-hour, twin-set events each - were killer, and no two were the same. The whole thing felt ike a four-day party with close friends all around, and a house band hitting a new peak in a career that has already had several.

The crowds at Artpark were, generally speaking, adoring, open and receptive to the new "We Are the Same" material, (which the band played a healthy dose of every night) and unreservedly ebullient when the Hip pulled out older songs and kicked them squarely in the pants. (Thursday's "Locked in the Trunk of A Car" and "Fifty Mission Cap," or Saturday's acoustic reworking of "Fireworks," for example.)

The band seemed to be as genuinely thrilled by the whole experience as was the crowd. During a meet-and-greet following Friday's show, drummer Johnny Fay praised Artpark for both its acoustic properties and its relative intimacy, claiming that, of all the places around the world he's played, the Lewiston venue takes the highest honors. That's really saying something.

I have been looking around but havnt found any yet. Not a surprise though, I miss things all the time, yeah, SOMETIMES I EVEN FORGET.

Looking for any recordign s of hte Artpark shows from last week. FRI. adn SAT. would be best.

Point me in the correct direction if possible.

Downloaded the 1985 to 1999 Rare and unreleased boot off the hundreith meridian. The tien amen square grace too version is great. I'd like to track down the rest of the show. Anyone know when this is from?

Human beings have been undertaking quests to enlighten themselves for thousands of years. That being the case, every ounce of help that can be passed on through the experience of others helps…

“I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me….it was her beautiful younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.

One day her ‘little’ sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn’t overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister.

Well, I was in total shock, and couldn’t say a word.

She said, “I’m going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.”

I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.

Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, “We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn’t ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.”

The moral of this story is simple.

Always keep your condoms in your car.”
