More and more users have dual-layer drives, and these two set shows generally run more than two hours... which means in order to fit a show onto a single-layer DVD the video needs to be compressed a lot. This results in a loss of video quality.

So, what's the consensus?

If we post them as dual-layer and you don't have a dual-layer drive you'll have to compress it yourself using your burning software (most include some form of Fit-to-DVD compression).

Posting as dual-layer gets the best quality out there but the downloads swell to approximately 8 Gigs per show. 8 Gigs is a big hit on users who have capped monthly allowances. Perhaps this might spell the return of trees and/or B&Ps?

Let's hear your thoughts.

Can any of the admins shed some light on why the majority of the guitar tabs are no longer on the hipfans tab site?

Question: Is it at all possible to burn .mkv's??? I haven't searched too deeply for a program, but I know that all the burning programs I have now don't support these file types. I am currently trying to clear up my harddrives and have a lot of HD Movies and TV shows that I want to burn to DVD's and DL DVD's.

Also, I know we are all from across the world, but the majority of us seem to be from the snowy north, so again question: Where can you get cheap DVD cases? Futureshop's prices seem to be steep (about 15 bucks for 10 cases), but maybe not...

Any ideas or input would be awesome!

Michael Jackson has been taken by ambulance to a Los Angeles hospital after reportedly going into cardiac arrest, TMZ reports. According to the report, paramedics had to administer CPR to Jackson inside the ambulance. The 911 call from Jackson’s Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles was placed at 12:21 p.m. PST. No other details are known as yet, but Jackson’s mother is reportedly already on the way to the hospital. Jackson is in “really bad shape,” an unspecified family member told TMZ, while Jackson’s father Joe told the site, “He is not doing well.”

Jackson is in the Los Angeles area for rehearsals for his upcoming 50-show This Is It! run of concerts at London’s O2 Arena. As Rolling Stone reported, rumors claim that Jackson is often absent from the rehearsals, with a stand-in required to take Jackson’s place. While no reasons were given for why Jackson might be missing the rehearsals, questions regarding the King of Pop’s health have dogged the Thriller singer for years.

Thus far, the four opening This Is It! shows have been postponed due to the “massive and technically complex” nature of the shows and not because of Jackson’s health, a rep for AEG Live, who is staging the O2 concerts, told Rolling Stone. No official confirmation or statement regarding TMZ’s report was available at press time.
