"Pearl Jam, Billy Talent and Metric top the bill of Calgary's Virgin Festival lineup, it was unveiled today at a press conference.

The festival will take place Aug. 8 and 9 at Canada Olympic Park. The bill also includes The Cliks, Tokyo Police Club, The Arkells, Thunderheist, White Lies, Mother Mother, Shout Out Out Out Out.

It's a change of venue for the festival, which last year brought Stone Temple Pilots, the Flaming Lips and Tragically Hip to Fort Calgary. Noise complaints from neighbours were lodged with City Hall after last year's festival."


Not sure about the rest of the bands, but PJ coming to Calgary sure boosts a crap summer of live music....

So I live in a decent part of East Hamilton on a beautiful street with lots of retirees and hard working young families. Everyone is nice and we do our part to help one another.However there is a STREET BLEMISH known by some people as a CRACKHEAD.His dad used to be the main coroner and infact did my dads autopsy. His parents have moved out and left him in the house to his own means.Mom comes by pretty much everyday with his soup and other essentials.Up until now this house has been a "using house".A small group of people who get their dope from him and smoke it there and leave. Over the years I have seen cops come and go and nothing seems to get done.Lately the late nite activity has spiked and just last week the cops were here again breaking up a fight which woke up my wife and daughter.The police are well aware of this guys record over the years but no action has happened.I have left notes on cars of his visitors letting them know they are unwelcome but the activity continues.Last night I stapled letters to street poles advising others to keep an eye out for each others property.The crackhead has called my cell phone(i advertise on my lawn for my landscape business)threatening the Hells Angels on me.This guy has no connections and is a bum who has been enabled his whole life.Any suggestions on how to deal with this guy.Im not a cop caller,but would like to shame him so he crawls back under the rock he came out from under.Thx in advance.V
