Tickets for all three Ottawa shows for sale.

Two for Saturday Sept 26,
Orchestra, row DD, seats 14 and 16

Two for Sunday Sept 27,
Mezzanine, Row A, seats 23 and 21

and one for Monday Sept 28,
Orchestra, Row GG seat 9

102.50 each (face value + surcharges)
These are all excellent seats. and the ones for Saturday and Sunday are seated next to each other

The reason I'm selling them is because I lost my job and I need to pay rent and bills.

Hey all,

I'm looking to purchase a pair of tickets for the Sept 30 show in the Hammer. I held off on these at the time of purchase because I was really hoping (and had put the word out to several of my closest friends and family members) that seeing a Hip show on my birthday would be the greatest gift possible. Two weeks to go it's become abundantly clear that no one picked up on the clues.

I don't care where they are, I just want to be in the barn. Let me know via PM.

  RIP Jim Carrol

I just found out that Jim Carrol died last Friday of a heart attack. For those not in the know, he is the guy who wrote the book "Basketball Diaries" which was made into a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio in the mid 90's, as well as a fantastic poet and punk rocker. I first heard Jim Carrol as a 13 year old kid watching a very cheesy movie called "Tuff Turf", which starred a young James Spader and Robert Downey Jr. The Jim Carrol band was in the movie briefly and played a few songs which instantly became cemented in my head...People Who Died and It's Too Late. I then went on the hunt for anything Jim Carrol related and bought the album Catholic Boy which I've loved ever since.

My Fiancee bought me tickets to all 4 shows for my 25th B-day (Hence why I plan on marrying her), So I hope to see a lot of you there.

I am going to post a show I videotaped in 2007 in Red Deer Alberta, it's uploading right now to youtube, the file is 2 gigs, I ripped the show in DV AVI which came out to 20 gigs, if anyone wants the RAW DV AVI files I can upload them to you to create a dvd out of this show.

Team Canada DJs Take Their Canadian Club Across the Great White North

Last we heard of Team Canada DJs, they were touring with the late DJ AM back in February. Now, the Montreal duo are back and ready to rip through over 30 Canadian venues in support of their upcoming release Canadian Club, dropping on October 20.

DJs Grandtheft and D.R. one (the boys who make up Team Canada) are known for their love affair with mash-ups, but as they told us back in February, Canadian Club will be "very different from the other releases — you won't hear a CD filled with mash-ups but a new, fresh Team Canada with lots more original beats and melodies."

But before they can celebrate, in the Eh! Team DJ blog, Grandtheft recently paid homage to AM, whom he calls a mentor.

“The last show I played with Adam [DJ AM] was in Edmonton a few months ago, and I got stuck playing some side room that was empty,” Grandtheft writes. “He came and sat behind me. I was bummed and when I kind of joked about how lame it was, he said seriously "Who cares? Play some records you like! You are getting paid to practice — that's so dope.”

In the blog, Grandtheft also addresses AM’s addiction problems, writing: “Addiction is a critical disease, and Adam struggled with it daily. When I was with him last, he told me that, even after all these years, staying sober was something that he fought with every single day. Something he thought about every day. In our world of clublife, Adam was surrounded by alcohol and drugs constantly. Tested constantly. And he succeeded against the odds for so long. He was obviously in so much pain. And since the plane accident, it is hard to even measure what he must have been going through. Still, he endeavored to help many people get sober.”
