I guess this song was on American Idol the other night.
It has been all over the TV and radio the past couple days.
Annoyingly catchy.
Here is Jimmy Fallon doing a Neil Young cover of it:

Anybody know anything about the specifics, the website doesn't have any scheduling on it. I'm very interested to see Mr. Joel Plaskett is listed as a performer the week before Thrush Hermit's reunion shows.

Ok.........I'll admit it, I watch American Idol with my kids.

Anyways, last night a girl sang an old Dylan song called Wagon Wheel, but mentioned it by another group called "Old Crow Medicine Show".

I wasn't familiar with the name, so I did a search and haven't been able to stop listening to their version.

Great old bluegrass sound, gonna have to pick up their CD.

On a side note, the girl ended up getting through to Hollywood. I really hope she ends up going far, good down home country. :thumb: :thumb:

I do not like discussing the bands personal life - so please do not reflect in this thread that way.

Johnny Fay recently recalled his late father in a story - and I thought part of it would fit nicely here:

"John, drummer for the rock band The Tragically Hip, remembered evenings when his mother would ask him not to bash away on his kit.

"Mom would say, 'You've got to give your dad a break,' " he recalled. "He took care of little kids who were very sick. He brought that home with him. That was not easy. But he would not have traded that for anything."

During his travels with the band, John said he would phone his father from far-off places to complain of fatigue or some ailment and seek his advice.

"If I was in Australia and something happened to me he would say, 'Take it easy.' He was into the power of the body healing itself."

He said his father was somewhat instrumental in helping The Tragically Hip become known by supplying them with cassettes that they would record as demo tapes to hand out to bar owners.

The tapes contained echo cardiogram records of patients who had worn recording devices to monitor their heartbeats. The only stipulation Fay made was that the names of the patients be scratched off the cassettes.

"We would take the echo cardiogram tapes and tape the Hip music over them," said John. "At the end were all these little blips and buzzes. Those were people's hearts. My dad was a cardiologist so he was into beats -- literally, heartbeats."

I know it's a long shot, but I've got a good history with the base pulling threw for me and hooking me up with last minute tickets.
