What a show! Just pulled in from Cleveland and it is now 5:45 am.

Setlist goes as follows:

Silver Jet
New Orleans is Sinking (Just Swim, I got ya covered...Swim)
Fully Completely
The Darkest One
Lake Fever
Fireworks
Courage
Inevitibility Of Death
It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken
100th Meridian (Life is All About Forgetting)
Something On (It's true, it's you and you and you and you)
A Beautiful Thing
50 Mission Cap
Ahead By A Century
The Dire Wolf
Giftshop
Little Bones

Encore:
Thugs
Scared
Three Pistols!!!!!!!

This was an awesome little venue. We pulled up around 6:15, Doors at 8. Met some really cool people before hand. Also heard that a couple without tickets ran into The Hip at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame earlier in the day and asked if there was anything they could do about getting in. Gord D. says How bout I put you on the guestlist, very nice of him! The wait in line to get in was well worth it, stood front row the whole show. Wayne, the opening band from Alabama was very good. The boys come on around 10:15 just after a little Radiohead house music. Violet Lights come down and it was rockin from here on out. The crowd was unbelievable and were singing along with every tune! Gord was on all night like always, dancing, rambling, smiling, and definitely dripping with sweat from Silver Jet on. Three Pistols was my wish and there it was, last song of the night. My favorite Hip show to date, great holiday weekend!! Caught one of Johnny's beat up drum sticks. Well, would write more but the sun is coming up. I'll be at Darien Lake for Sunday's show. Don't know if it will top this one but will be good for sure.

I pulled this off the HIP newsgroup !

>Looking at UMusic.ca's touring page:
>Under The Hip, they have dates listed only until Oct 2 (Winnipeg shows)
>For Sam Roberts, they have him listed with The Hip also until Oct 2,
>but then they have him in Montreal on Oct 11/12 at Place Des Arts, which are the Hip's Montreal Theatre shows.
>Sam is then in London, ON on Oct 13th at the Entertainment Sports Centre & Toronto, ON on Oct 15 & 16 at the Hummingbird Centre.
>Do you think those are Sam Roberts solo concerts or do you
>think those are Eastern Hip Theatre shows not yet announced??
>The timeline seems to lend itself to the Hip (after Montreal, straight to
>London, then one day off, and then to Toronto for 2 shows)
>The venues in London and Toronto seem like they fit the "Theatre" tour mold.
>Any thoughts anyone?????

I'd have to say that these must be Hip shows. You're right, it fits perfectly
into their schedule. Also, the Hummingbird Centre holds over 3000 people (says
on their website), and Mr. Roberts would be extremely hard-pressed to fill a
theatre like that two nights in a row by himself.

I would expect an announcement in the very near future, since the Montreal shows
have already been officially announced.

and this...

Hey Gyus & Gals,

It's VERY true, They are playing in Kingston around that time, I'm in Banff,
but my Brother in Kingston says it's
HAS BEEN announced locally in Kingston. They are playing at the Grand
Theatre downtown Kingston.

Our Lady Peace is playing tonight, Wed, 8/28, in Syracuse at Jamseville Grove. Show starts at 6, it is a rescheduled date and an outdoor venue...Tickets are available through ticketmaster or can be purchased at the door for 25$. It is not sold out. Should be a great show.

So, what is everyone's runner-up band? (I think you can guess which band I mean by most favorite.) Mine is R.E.M.
