Thanks to Lance and the etree archive mirror I have a passel of new Tragically Hip shows that I'm ready to offer up. I'll take the first three with the Subj: line "Hipbase Hip Offering" for up to two shows each. I'll also consider trades if you want more than two. Send me your list of hip, dead, jerry band, panic, ratdog, etc and I'll look it over.

I notice MuchMusic has it in "medium rotation" (whatever that means), and they've got a brief 30s clip on their website:

I think Problem Bears is easily the best of the three. The other two are probably pretty close, but I'd say Forest Edge is a bit better than Ultra Mundane!

Back in ol' 93 there was movie with Will Smith (fresh prince of belaire, spelling?) It was called 'Six Degrees of Separation'. I saw the movie many years ago and from what I recall the title doesn't have a lot to do with the movie but the title itself I believe is referring to the strange phenomenon that everyone is connected to each other through people they know.

For example, You know John, John knows Christine, Christine works for a guy named Pete, Pete went to school with a girl named Sasha, Sasha is your brother's girlfriend..

Or something like that anyway.

So, I thought it might be kinda cool to see how far we can take a post using the 6 degrees of separation idea..

For this little game we'll be using concerts attended.. You have to list two, no more and no less. The first concert MUST be the exact same day/show that was posted as the 2nd concert by the previous poster!

Rules are simple..

1. don't post twice in a row, have at least one post between yours..
2. post only two concerts/shows per post
3. make sure to list the date and set if more than one date/set
4. any band is acceptable, as long as its not your brothers high school band since I'm quite sure none of us saw him!
5. HAVE FUN!

Lets see how many posts we can do before someone has been to a concert that no others have been too.


LOL! I almost couldn't finish this post, I had to consult google to figure out the date of my first concert! Damn that rule #3!

Hey all,
I saw this over on Nancies.org and it has been doing really well. Figured I could try to get some chatter going Smile List 3 things about yourself that is not in your profile. I'll start:

1) I have been taking voice lessons for 2 years, I hope to be in some off-broadway plays someday.
2) I have been married for over 5 years, no kids (just a dog as you see by my icon..her name is Mollie)
3) Dave Matthews Band is my favorite band of all time (with the Hip right behind of course!!)

Spill the beans Smile Oh, and who secretly picks their nose??? hahaha Smile

Any other Ben Harper fans out there?

I went to a show when he was in Calgary at the Jubilee and it was unreal. That guy is an amazing musician and now I can see why. I recently got ahold of his new DVD The pleasure & pain. Lots of cool stuff on there like live footage, interview footage and some stuff about him growing up.

If you're a fan of Ben Harper or just a fan of music in general. Check out the DVD. You will not be disappointed. It's very cool. 8)

Has anyone heard of this amazing Syracuse-based artist? I saw him for the second time last night at the Tralf. I am not sure if he tours Canada at all. Just him and his guitar. Its is amazing what he can do with his guitar and his voice. He sounds like a four piece band at times! If you like folk-rock, (which I never used to untill I heard him) I suggest you check him out. I know that there are about 40 shows available on archive.org, also check out martinsexton.com. Let me know what you think.

HCC (HipCovers.Com) fundraiser!!!

Well i wanted to do a little fundraiser! I am going to offer 2 shows right
now. And all the money raised will be for Peter Padjen, and Rory Young's
fundraisers going on. The reason why i am doing this, is to help out for
these chairites.
I am going to make this a silent-fundraiser, and the top 4 highests bids,
will get copies of these 2 shows.
I will devide/send the money like this:
Rory Young - will get the highest bid(1), + the lowest bid(4)
Peter Padjen - will get the second highest bid (2), & the third highest
