If you could visit any where in the world, all expenses paid, where would it be?? Why??
What would be your second choice???

I would love to visit Hawaii, because it is so beautiful and exotic, secondly, I would love to go to London...or anywhere in England for that matter

I saw this in the henhouse this morning. Does anybody here get the magazine? Kinda interesting:

The July issue of Esquire magazine makes reference to G.D. and the BOTN. On p.16 under, "The 9 Most Remarkable Things in Culture this Month", Downie wraps up the list at #9.

"Best Lyrics We Don't Understand: 'You'd like to buy the drink a bar, take us all to the show/ You're so full of cash tonight, you could buy the Pope/ You might as well try and get milk from your elbow.' - From "Christmastime in Toronto," on Gordon Downie's new solo album, Battle of the Nudes."

I noticed... the ancients and the transients again in Pillform, originally done in Vancouver Divorce. I noticed... Gord from time to time repeats little things like that in his lyrics (the onion on M@W, your finger starts to wiggle and landscapes emerge on DFN, some others I can't think of as well). Just noticed, thought I'd point it out Wink

One other thing, did you notice in the Coke Machine Glow book, the lyrics for Boy Bruised By Butterfly Chase aren't published? Shizzle!

"Gord innovates again. All Gord Downie & The Country Of Miracles shows will be recorded and made available for download within a week of the shows."

Anybody know anything about this? It's been over a week and still no news. I realize that it's still the start of the tour and there's lots of time left, I just hope that it's still planned.

It dosn't look like he'll be touring anywhere near me this summer so this will be my only chance at hearing their live stuff.

Here's the latest on the "free show" with the Stones set for Toronto. Just heard it on Q107, take it for what its worth. The show is still planned for the end of July/early August. It will be held at Downsview Park instead of the waterfront. I think Downsview park is where the Pope had his mass when he was in Toronto. There will be approximately 16 Canadian supporting acts, with the Stones headlining. There will be a $20.00 entrance fee, so the show is no longer "Free", but $20.00 for the Stones + other acts is a no-brainer. There will be a mile long BBQ supporting Canadian beef, and a special "bleecher section" for Health care workers who will be honoured during the show. 16 Canadian acts???? Can't imagine the Hip not being involved in this one. Probably the same set of performers as the Skydome/ACC shows. Again, this is all speculation right now....more to come

Have any of you tried either of these 2 activities?? Is it really hard? I was watching 5 people kite surf yesterday at Lake Erie. It was really windy...these people were getting tremendous air!! It was incredible!!! I understand that wind surfing is alot harder because of the balance issue. I really want to try kite-surfing, so I was wondering if any of you have done it or know someone who has???
