The Tragically Hip To Release New Album Two Days Before Canada Day
Tuesday May 04, 2004 @ 05:30 PM
By: ChartAttack.com Staff
Tragically Hip
It’s been a couple years since the release of the last Tragically Hip album, In Violet Light, and the I Am Canadian set are starting to twitch. But, knowing that no summer is complete without the sounds of Bobby Baker’s guitar riffs ringing through cottage country, the Hip fellas have decided to release a new album before summer’s end.
The Tragically Hip’s new album, In Between Evolution, will be in stores on June 29, which keen observers will note is the Tuesday before Canada Day. Does this mean that Canada’s national band are planning a big Canada Day event to mark the album’s release? Nothing’s been announced yet, but we can tell you that the Hip will be in Canada in early July, with dates planned for the Ottawa Blues Fest (July 10), the Wasaga Beach Blues Fest (July 11), Sarnia Bayfest (July 17) and the Sudbury Blues Festival (July 24). More dates are expected to be announced for Canada, the U.S. and Europe soon.

Any U2 fans out there, check out the link, the band was shooting for their new album cover and confirmed the first single will be out in September followed by the album being released in October.

Born on the water, it has the same type of slide guitar as Vaccination Scar.
Just a crazy early morning idea.
I was just over at thehip.com and noticed that they have added more of the cover art to the preview on the first page. Looks pretty cool so far...
anyone notice how the piece 'in between evolution' on cameron tomsett's web page is no longer available, it just comes up blank? kind of interesting i thought. I guess its the product of some legal frameworking, the hip have bought the rights to that particular piece or something.
Don't know if there are any Big Wreck or Watchmen fans still out there, but Ian Thornley (Big Wreck) and his new band Thornley (including former Watchmen bassist Ken Tizzard) will be on Jay Leno this Friday night performing their single "So Far So Good"...
(See <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.thornleyband.com">www.thornleyband.com</a><!-- w --> for info)
Quite the accomplishmnent, considering their debut CD (Come Again) doesn't hit stores until next week...

Hey guys
Found something on Kazaa today that I thought I should pass along. Type in the word Pezz under audio and hope that the tracks come. What should be there is the entire "Watoosh" album that Pezz recorded in 1999 including the hidden track -- which just happens to be a punk cover of New Orleans Is Sinking.
BTW, Pezz changed their name in 2001 -- they are now known as Billy Talent -- perhaps you've heard of them
Cheers,
Pat
Working away on this Sunday morning, and just thought I'd share.
The weekend papers are pretty much in agreement that the sun will never rise and food won't ever taste the same after "Friends" gets cut on Thursday.
Never seen it. Don't have any urge to. Always seemed too corny, too pop-culture and too much of a standard sit-com to appeal to me. Anybody else on the planet a non-fan?
