Does anyonehave any ifno on clubs they'll be hitting or if we can get advance ticket sales from the hip club? I saw the Hip at a small a club a few years back and there is just no comparison seeing them that way. WOuld love to again.

I just found out that there is a rumour - so credible that it's about to be published - that the Hip will play The Whiskey here in Calgary on June 23....which is a week before the album's supposed to come out!!

If anybody hears ANYTHING more about this, please post ASAP!!!

Just curious if any other posters here saw the Hip play here in Fort Erie June 30, 1989 as part of the annual Friendship Festival?
It was an unbelievable concert!
By the way, they opened for Colin James that night.

Ahoy, just thought I'd give it up for Reagan, I know the man was no saint and alot people hated his :censored gutz but I thought the old coot had alot of character. He showed he had some sack with the Sovietz. What do you Americanz think of Ronny's accomplishmentz or do the Bad outweigh the good he's done? Anyway's RIP Gipper.

This song has some of the most brilliant lyrics I've ever heard...I simply cannot believe it was never released or that the lyrics were not recycled into another song down the line. I wonder if the Hip even remember this song.

If there was ever a song I wish they'd drag out of the depths of the unreleased material and play live this is it. A really compulsive yet dark groove, it would have been perfect if it had been modified for Day For Night. And the lyrics...wow. When I hear this song I have to stop what I'm doing and pay attention, because it's just so compelling. Who would have thought, even with Gord's obvious lyrical genius, that lines so wildly profound and imagery-laden as these would just pile up on top of each other through four and a half minutes of low key rock perfection?

To me it's about being a person craving companionship in a world that makes you feel so isolated and disenchanted with everything love is supposed to stand for. It seems like it's simultaneously forlorn, angry, bitter and wistful. I even feel like it's partly anger at the protagonist himself for having failed and for feeling such a way, and partly anger at the rest of the world for leading him to such a dark place. I sometimes think it's like you've been pushed to the brink of destruction, and you know you have no choice but to jump over the edge....and then you're furious at yourself for taking the final step yourself.

I was flipping through the channels and Canadian Idol came on and they were just about the judge someone, all of a sudden there's Jake Gold, a guest judge for the show, it was weird actually seeing him insted of just seeing his name in an artical about The Hip.

OK.
It seems lately that I check theHip.com everyday.
I check it today and it is finally updated for me.
The update date states June 1. With the big concert at Molson being announced.
Darien is also listed in the touring section.
Is it me/my computer or is today June 6 and Thehip.com updated a week late with a messed up date.
