Post em here...

With the possibility of no NHL season next year, this may be the last time we talk playoff hockey for awhile. :x

Hi all.
Today I was listening to the 11-27-98 show from the TLA in Philly and the version of "Something On" is a bit different. First, the bass is a bit heavier, and secondly, the lyrics to one of the verses are different. Rather than having:

Picture a century of water
Bury the pipeline guy right here
Kill the dream of possible vacations
With the sweep of a mapping pioneer
Outside there's hectic action
The ice is covering the trees
And one of em's interconnecting
With my Chevrolet Caprice

the lyrics are something like:

"I see you and your reflection
I see there's nothing on
and I can't handle that rejection
I'm out on your front lawn

And the curtains pause for a second
and then those curtains shut right up
and I just stood on the lawn there
until the sun came up"

I was wondering if anyone else had heard these lyrics?? If anyone wants to hear this version, let me know! :thumb:

There are now three additional listings on Ebay for IBE.
But these are all pre-order - ship when it comes in.

But check this one out. It is called Beautiful Things.
This is now for sale in two different auctions on Ebay.
I assume it is an actual release from the record companies, because the second auction says still sealed.

HOLLYWOOD (Reuters) - They really said it -- notable quotes from the news:

"I was on a plane this one time just pouring the mini-bottles down my throat. I got so wasted and we had to go through customs in Germany and I was trying to talk German. It was so funny. Germans are so serious. They were giving me the worst looks ever. And then I went swimming in the fountain at the hotel lobby."

-- Singer AVRIL LAVIGNE, 19, in the San Francisco Chronicle.

If this is legit, I imagine the full album will be on the 'net before long (if it isn't already):

I am so hooped...

I bought IVL the day it was realeased, and, like everybody else, I signed up for the Hip Club immediately. I used the website for a while, but when it stopped offering new content, I stopped going, and ultimately forgot my password.

Fast forward to last November when I switched ISPs, and got a new email address.

This had made it impossible for me to retrieve my forgotten password.

I just forwarded a second request to the admins at the Hip Club, as my first one went completely ignored!

I hope they get back to me before the dates for the cross Canada Tour are announced.. I would hate to miss out on an opportunity at a pre-sale.

anyone have any info on hip tours from the late 80's early 90's? I saw them out here in Regina back in 89 or 90 i can't remember exactly but it was at a little club called the venue and there was only 200-300 of us there. Any of you older hipbasers have this kinda info? setlists etc. anything!

Based on experience... I would say TTH will not show up @ the Molson Amp not having done a live show or 2! There have been hints of it on Y108 and I've heard rumours from others and also the Calgary thread.

When it comes to Toronto area same-day gigs a handful of us here have done very well over the years. Why not increase our chances this time around and have a "buddy-system" in place? Some of us our online all day and will get an email from any of the local radio stations, some of us listen to the radio all day long and a select few are simply "inside" when it comes to this thing.

The more Hipbaser's the better. Let's all connect thru here and cell phones. Due to being in sales my cell is on ALL the time. As soon as someone hears about the gig...why not have some sort of "Tree" set up where say I call BRANCHES and they each email or call all the LEAVES ?

Any thoughts... WHO's ON?

I brought my IVL CD as well as a burned hip CD with me to work tonight to listen to. 3 young ladies came in to get cigarettes and pay for gas. I had to ask for thier ID for the cigarettes and they were from Ontario. Brampton to be exact. I asked if they were hip fans and I got "OF COURSE".

I felt this was worth posting because I am one of the only Hip fans I know of in the town I live in. Yes, there are people who know about the hip, but I would not consider them the kind of hip fan we are on the BH. I work and live in a town that has the population of 1500, 1 1/2 hours from the Canadian border in upstate NY.

What are the chances, that they come into the store I work at? Most people stop in my town because they need gas or have to eat. There are many private and public campgrounds and some motels, but nothing major. Most people that come to stay for the summer are Americans. I thought it was pretty cool.

Like one of them said, "this is just a random moment"
