Hi All -

As expected, on of our gracious hosts for the video maxed out bandwidth. The rate at which this was accomplished was faster than expected, but it happened nonetheless.

So, for the time being, the only place to download the O Canada video besides the meridian ftp is http://members.rogers.com/s_warner/ocanada.html .

Thanks -

Brian Mc

I am at work and they are asking me for a good pop-up blocker that I can download for free.
So instead of looking, I figure why not just ask here.
Internet Explorer running Windows XP Home Edition.
Thanx.

Just a correction, the Cup will now be at the Fort Erie Leisureplex from 10:30 am till 12 noon, then move across the street to the FE Golf Club from 12:30 pm till 4 pm. The Leisureplex and Golf Course are located on Garrison Rd / Highway 3, about 5 minutes from the Peace Bridge.

The next day, Monday, Dave Andreychuk gets his time with the Cup and will be in Buffalo and Hamilton with it.

As part of Tampa assistant coach and former Buffalo Sabre Craig Ramsay's week or so with the Cup, he will be bringing it to the Fort Erie Leisureplex and the Fort Erie Golf Club on Sunday August 1!
Fans will be able to take pictures with the Cup...

:thumb:

Might be the closest you Sabre fans will ever get to celebrating with the Cup! lol

Alright, not everyone can meet up before the show and meet fellow Hipbasers, BUT...

If we know what other people are wearing then we can say hello and meet during the show. I know it is a big venue but it is worth a try.

I will be wearing the (predominantly white) and red TTH jersey with DOWNIE on the back and the numbers 19 on the back and on the sleeves. My name is Lee or you can call me Lofty. I am looking forward to seeing and meeting more people.

See you saturday,

Lofty Pines
Lee

Hi,

When I was going to school in Kingston, I won a draw that entitled me a to Hip-related prize. Specifically, a huge 3 x 10 foot canvas poster of the Day for Night album art (cloudy tree thing). It's actually painted right on the canvas, and it's super cool. It was part of the album promotion by HMV Canada. It's been proudly hoisted in the living rooms of the houses I've lived in since undergrad, but now I need to get rid of it because I'm going travelling in Europe and I need some bling.

Anybody interested in this for themselves or a hard-core fan? It's a one-of-a-kind thing. They told me it was worth a lot when I won it, but I don't anything about these things. I don't have any pics but I can get some, but basically it's exactly like the album art, just huge. Make me an offer, I've got no idea how to price it.

Later,

Perseus

So we're nearly half way through the month now with no sign of future tour dates anytime soon. Are they really going to release an album at the start of summer and take the entire month of August off? Maybe just a little foolish? August is prime time, summer at its most golden peak, outdoor festivals....its what you live for.

I figure at least a months notice would be required in announcing a concert, so August is now looking like it might not happen. What a painful thought.

i know this really isnt the place to be putting this BUT i figure this is where it will get the most exposure -- you know, it really hit me last night -- when FOX decided not to show Gord doing the national anthem and how with that came the hundreds/thousands of posts containing rants on how FOX sucks and pleas to find it somewhere -- for the most part within less than 24 hours most of us have been fulfilled with audio and video of it -- sooo i guess my point is this .... THANKS LANCE for giving us this to be able to do that -- i think maybe you dont get enough thanks or credit for providing the number 1 HIP community on the web!!! soooo once again -- Lance, THANK YOU -- it is well appreciated!!!! Mike

Hi all -

While we're working on getting the video out there, I threw together a few quick screenshots of Gordie singing the Anthem last night. Just click on each image to proceed to the next.

I have it.

I purchased the game as a digital download from mlb.com after clarifying with their cust svc that it was a) a video download, and b) included the anthems. I then went about scouring the web to find a way to hack Micro$oft's encryption scheme, to no avail. Finally I settled on using a decent screen-capture program to "dub" the playback of the 90 seconds or so that the anthem took. After a few editing maneuvers in Adobe Premiere, it is ready to be presented.

A word of warning: it is not the greatest quality. But it is watchable and better than nothing.

I would love some help in hosting this file. Anyone who can help with it, please email me directly at brian@tgupc.com. If there are no takers, I will probably handle distribution through email. The file is 3.6 mb, so it can attach to an email easily (provided you have a regular email account). I will also post it at the meridian FTP.

thanks -

Brian Mc
