I have Live Between Us and it sounds amazing on vinyl. I was wondering if any of the other albums were available via the web. I check ebay all the time but have never seen any Hip vinyl. Any info on this will be greatful appreciated!

Many moons ago, The Hip were on a sneaky cross Canada for charity tour. They'd show up in town and the word would go out, Hip Show tonight, small venue... all proceeds going to charity.

Through trials worthy of my very own hollywood movie, I was there.

The Hip performed a song I had never heard before and never heard again. Gord said it was one of theirs and it was called "Mein Kampf Made Easy".

However, as we know Gord has a knack for renaming songs when playing live.

Sufficed to say, though I remember little of the tune or the lyrics, I know I loved it. I would have attributed a blanket love of The Hip for my fandom, but my friend Narc, who also attended and is an incredibly critical fellow, loved it too.

Any of this mean anything to anyone?

Also the night of the single greatest thing I've ever seen at a concert... but I'm thinking that's worthy of it's own thread...

Sunday

I live in the Buffalo area, and haven't had a chance to pick up the album yet, so I was hoping to catch some of it on the radio, but though I've been flipping back and forth between the Canadian stations and the one or two Buffalo stations that play the Hip, I have heard absolutely nothing since the album came out.

I heard some of "Vaccination Scar" on 97.7 once, but that was before the album came out. What is going on? Typically, a new Hip album comes out and it's all over the Canadian stations at least. Granted, I think "Vaccination Scar" is a very "meh" song, so if that was supposed to be the 'radio single', then it wouldn't surprise me that I haven't heard that but once, but regardless, they should be playing some of the other cuts, too.

I mean, it's not that I'm listening day and night... I have a half hour drive into work and back, and I tune in during my lunch hour, but even so, I should have heard something by now, eh?

I know I've seen some postings while shows near for hipbase fans to meet up before shows. Have many of you guys met each other? I only started frequenting the forum here more recently and am curious how many of you have met.

Is there an album or thread where members have posted pics of themselves?

New Single/Grace, or Grace/New Single?

I kinda like Grace in the #2 spot. It's been there pretty steady since the M@W tour and still seems to get things going even from the second position. I heard it as an encore once during teh PP tour, and it just didn't seem right.

P.S. Has anyone else heard the "Courage... where the hell were you, you're 45 minutes LATE!" rant this tour? I know we heard it in Wasaga when the boys actually were running late.

I play guitar, I live in Mississauga.
I'm thinking that there's alot of cool songs that I can play that I don't think the Hip will be performing anytime soon like 'Everytime you Go' ect.
Anyone else play guitar? drums? sing?

For some reason I have never liked Save The Planet. But most people I talk to love it. I'm not sure why, but I think it is the only flaw on Phantom Power. The only song keeping it from being a perfect album.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has songs like that.

i could include the Bastard too, but I'm not sure how popular it is.
