This is from the Sunday Edition (8-22-04) of The Detroit News/Detroit Free Press on page 2a under the "Newsmakers" Section. (I couldn't find this in the online edition). This small section features national and local entertainment news:


The Tragically Hip will kick off a U.S. tour
Sept. 18 in Detroit. The veteran Canadian rock
act will be touring in support of its latest album,
"In Between Evolution".

Less than a month until the U.S. tour starts and less than 3 weeks until the Kingston show. I have a feeling The Hip are going to "wow" us with really diverse set lists. You know that IBE will be a major part of any show, but I'm hoping they draw on songs from every album.

Pollstar, the main concert listing database, included a small feature on The Hip in their news section. They also have a top 50 chart of most popular searches for gigs, which I think The Hip have an excellent shot of geting on next week. It would be great to get them in the top 10 (which would draw other people in to check out just who this band is).

OK, who's all going to the show at the 930 club? Can we like all wear red hats or something to identify ourselves at the show?

Has anyone seen Open Water yet? Haven't seen it, looking forward to it though. Just wondering what your thoughts are on it. Here is the link to the trailer:

I can't seem to find any non-biased information about the drug Accutane. Did anyone here use it? Did you have a friend who used it? I heard there are a few risks, but I'm willing to take them if it clears up my acne. Any personal experience info would be great. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Ktown and I are going to the Burlington Vermont show.

I, being in no which way or form a musician, am not in highest of places to judge the works of IBE, musically speaking. I would like to know peoples opinions, esp. those who are musicians. Do you think IBE is musically a difficult, complex album? ie. is the guitar work, bass work, and drumming challenging and difficult, being taken to a new level? Obviously the Hip are a very collectively sound band, focused more on a perception and judgement as a single entity, but how does the album rate musically?

I look forward to your subjectivity/objectivity.

Amazing how quiet it gets when theres no longer really anything to complain about. We've got our tour dates, the sites been updated, the hip club is partially active, things are rolling, and we have nothing to bitch about at the moment. Although its awfully fun complaining, keep it up Hip and management... :lol: :mrgreen: :lol:
